Senboku
Tazawako Lake Resort & Onsen is set in Senboku and offers a hot springs bath. Guests can use the ski storage space and enjoy the on-site restaurant. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. Kakunodate Town is a 20-minute drive away from the accommodation. The breakfast and dinner was delicious, and there was a great variety of Japanese food available for both meals. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The staff were also very helpful. I had to book a taxi to reach one location in the region, and the staff willingly assisted me with the booking.
It was so central and close to the station - we thought this would make it noisy but it was super quite and really luxury to just walk downstairs to your hotel :) The staff members were really lovely and helpful and the rooms were spacious and very comfy beds.
This hotel is more like a resort in the mountains but keeping the spirit of a ryokan. The building is a bit dated but in good condition. The staff provided attentive service and were helpful. The meals were buffet style with some things prepared in the moment by a chef, which means that the food was plentiful.
The room was comfortable, warm and very spacious. The hotel is situated a short drive from Lake Tazawa, Tazawako Ski Resort and the Nyutou Onsen Area, which made it easy to access all these places with a minimum of trouble. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to tell me about local sights and attractions. Admittedly this was done in Japanese. I want to go back, but preferably out of season when the hotel is not quite so busy.
It’s a ski lodge, so don’t expect any luxury, but the beds were fine and the room was clean. There is a communal area with a kitchen and other facilities, and a hot spring in the basement. The one staff member we met was very friendly. We visited in the summer so it was quiet.
