Baladin Zanzibar Beach Hotel in Michamvi-Pingwe features a private beach area and an outdoor swimming pool. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a terrace. Guests can enjoy a selection of local dishes in the on-site restaurant.

It was a lovely place, located on quiet beach. With just 12 rooms, its perfect for a quiet getaway. The aesthetics are very nice, coming from an Italian owner. The food was superb, especially for Vegetarians, which can be a little difficult to find in Zanzibar, but to top it all, their craft beer was out of the world. Didn't expect such amazing craft beer.

The villas are very spacious and has everything you will need and more for a comfortable stay. We never had any issue at all. We loved that it is very traditional and open yet still offers high level of privacy. I was a bit worried about the open bathroom initially, but this was a non-issue. The bed was the biggest bed we’ve ever seen but also very cozy and comfortable. We loved the small pool in the villa terrace and the beds/loungers just outside the villa where you can just laze the day away or just stargaze at night. The villas were also cleaned daily and there is also a turndown service at night. The staff were very helpful and friendly - not in an intrusive way but in a very discreet, polite manner. The big common pool was also amazing, we spent a lot of time here to just chill and enjoy. The beach/sea was also fantastic - it’s not really a beach where you get a wide sandy beach - but in that way it is unique - we loved both when it’s high and low tide and the transition in between. When it’s high tide, the views from the villas or from the restaurant is amazing and the sounds of the waves are soothing, but when it’s low tide then you can go for a walk, see birds, and just explore that stretch of the coastline. In between the high tide and low tide when the water is not too high and just starting to recede, you can just sit by the sea and enjoy the views which are magnificent. Food as well is amazing. We were not served anything that we did not like and the portions were big enough. The all inclusive package was well worth the price - you get any food or drink you wish for, anywhere in the property (or even outside as we went for a tour very early morning and requested for our breakfast to be packed and the staff very happily obliged) and at any time of day. There is a lounge area in the restaurant hut where it is also very nice to relax and drink wine and read a book.

Situated along a secluded white sand tidal beach on Michamvi Peninsula, Upendo Beach is a boutique hotel featuring 3 luxury villas with stylish furnishing and a restaurant with infinity pool.

Two additional beachfront luxury villas, suitable for couples or single travellers, feature a large bedroom with sea view and a private roof top with swimming pool and sun deck.

We booked the villa for a special occasion and must say that it made the occasion very special indeed. Everything is tastefully decorated, with a modern style that provides comfort, but also African traditional details that remind you of Zanzibar. The villa is located right on the beach, so at high tide the sea is less than 1 meter away, which is a very pleasant experience. At night, hearing the sound of the waves is very relaxing but perhaps too “noisy” for those who are very light sleepers. The staff was very helpful and kind at all times. The restaurant and pool area have nice view over The Rock restaurant. They serve a variety of drinks and dishes to cater for many different tastes.

At the resort, rooms are fitted with a wardrobe, bed linen and a balcony with a garden view. Featuring a private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries, rooms at Amani Villas Nature Retreat also boast a sea view. The rooms have a safety deposit box.

We stayed 2 nights in this paradise-like place. The service and the whole staff is so lovely and perfect. And yes, the food is brilliant! The private Villa is so relaxing, quiet and there is everything you need. Every day, you get 2 fresh bottles with water and even in the evening, you get the bed prepared during dinner. In case the bed is to hard, you easily can put the lounge chair mattresses from outside, under the sheets and then it's soft. You have fresh flowers in the villa and the daybed in the rooftop terace is brilliant. In the beginning of high tide it's brilliant for swimming and even snorkeling for some fishes. And it's perfect, because there are absolutely no sea urchins (seeigel)! We absolutely loved it and are already thinking to come back again at the end of our trip.

This resort was truly exceptional, from the attention to detail in everything, the kindness of the staff, the relaxing atmosphere that came across us from the minute we walked in. Their selection of beer and wine was exceptional and the menu also kept a very good level. Breakfast was always lovely with freshly cooked bread and the fact that everyone who worked there seemed happy and proud to be there. Will recommend to anyone who asks me about Zanzibar and hope to be back again!

It was our second stay at Qambani and once again the experience was outstanding. From the pick-up at the airport to the drop-off everything was handled professionally and extremely well by the team. If you are looking for a very private atmosphere in an luxury and attentive environment Qambani is a safe bet.

A perfect alternative to expensive beach resorts for those looking for an authentic experience, off the tourist path. Bungalows are cosy, decorated in Zanzibar style, with a private terrace where you can stare at the see while breakfast or a glass of wine is served. Although this is not an all-inclusive, the service is quite high-level thanks to a prepared smiling staff and Gillian, the property manager, who took care of us like longtime friends. The famous Rock restaurant is within walking distance, a true plus from our side.
