The suite I stayed in was perfect. I could have used the catering facilities to be self-catered if I'd really wanted to. But why would you? Carvoeiro is 25 mins or so down the road and has a wonderful range of eateries.
There was enough space in my room to focus on truly relaxing, but the hotel's facilities meant I didn't spend a lot of time in it! The pool area was to die for, catching the sun throughout the whole day, and the indoor facilities (gym, sauna and pool) were great on the one day when the weather wasn't so good.
I can't write a review without mentioning the staff! José Boto and team were just wonderful. They were very kind and welcoming to a solo traveller like me - offering local recommendations and a smile at every stage. It was my birthday during the stay and the team went an extra mile by wishing me the best and delivering a special gift to my room. This was very thoughtful and left a lovely impression.

The resort was very peaceful and the grounds nicely taken care of. About a 7 minute drive from the main town of Lagos and a couple minutes drive from the main beach Meia Praia. Upon arrival it was very clean and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you needed to cook with. The Nespresso machine, capsules and milk were very much appreciated. The receptionists were very welcoming and accommodating with our requests.

Maggie is a very lovely host. She wants their guests to feel home in her little paradise. Her house is in the middle of nowhere. This is a place where you can relax and recover from all the noise and stress in our daily lives. On the day we left, she even offered us to stay a little longer. That was very comfortable for us. Our room including the big bathroom and balcony was luxury. We enjoyed it very much.
The resort is absolutely fabulous, the suites are very well equipped and spacious. The spa was top notch. The breakfast was superb with lots of choice plus an additional focus on healthy eating. For dinner, we ate a light meal in the bar which was outstanding, not to mention the sweeping views of the valley and the magnificent sunset. Only good things to say about our experience. I wish we had stayed longer.
The service and all the employees are impeccable. Special mention to Tiago from the bar.He is very accommodating , helpful and always with a smile.
And the highlight was , when one of the employees personally went to our room to hand in a birthday greeting card from the hotel for my husband.It might be only a little add on for the hotel, but for the guests it’s lot extra miles. Me and my husband were touched.

A gem in the Monchique mountains in a tranquil setting located next to a thermal resort, certainly worth a visit. What an absolutely cute family run Inn with an excellent restaurant. Very professionally run with excellent food and service. The chef actually came out to explain how she made the delicious carob dessert which was scrumptious. We had a Junior Suite with a lovely terrace off the living room, couldn’t ask for a more peaceful setting.
We really enjoyed staying at Monchique Spa and Resort, we had a one bedroom unit, which was very spacious and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the facilities. We did not eat in the restaurant but did in the mezzanine bar, and the food was delicious. The breakfast is varied also. I treated myself to a facial with Paula in the spa area, which I very much enjoyed. Paula is very caring and knowledgeable in the fields she is trained in.
Very nice and clean hotels at the resort. The thermals and spa is in need of a little renovation. One working small sauna and one steam room available. You need to pay additional in order to use this facility
The hotel is owned / managed by people who care about their guests and you feel it as soon as you arrive and throughout your stay. It’s location right next to the Thermal Hotel where you can enjoy great spa facilities feels like being part of a very charming 19th cent-like spa resort.
Very nice resort with a somewhat complicated layout. The rooms are spacious and ours had a great view over the hills and you could see the ocean in the distance. The staff was professional, nice and friendly. Breakfast was great!
