Avela Hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was kind and attentive, the breakfast was delicious. When on the hotel property, it felt like a high end resorts. The property is located a about .5 miles from downtown Sayulita, which to me was great. We rented a golf cart and had no problem getting to and from the beach when we wanted to.

Although ostensibly a hostel, this place is low key luxurious–especially with it's rooftop bar and pool with an ocean view, you really get a resort kind of vibe for a low price. The bunk beds in the shared room were very nicely / thoughtfully constructed and probably the most comfortable I've ever stayed in.

The property is absolutely beautiful and great value. The host helped us out a lot, and coordinated nice activities for dios los muertos. This small boutique hotel was charming. The heated pool with ocean view and yoga studio were the best. We are even considering booking out the entire resort for a family trip in the future.

Viajero has beautiful views from the rooftop pool/bar over to the luscious green hills on one side and the sea on the other. The dorms beds are pod-like, with your own curtains for privacy and an extra level of comfort. The property itself is well-maintained and feels almost like a resort. The staff are super friendly and helpful - Nico and Camila were especially helpful during my visit. After months of travelling and staying in various hostels, Viajero has to be one of the best I've stayed in.

It was a clean bright room on a lovely beach, in a somewhat dated resort. We were given a room which we were not happy with (we expected an ocean-view room and instead were given a room with trees around the balcony making it all rather dark; the front desk told us that ocean-view referred to the resort and not necessarily our room, but we were moved to a second-floor room near the beach which was so much better). We have a nice time, and would stay again.

The hostel felt like a resort, from the rooftop bar with immaculate vibes and great tunes, to the sunny roof pool and plenty of areas to chill and relax. The staff was friendly and helpful, the daily activities were fun and great for a solo traveler, and the environment made it easy to meet others at the hostel.

Continental breakfast each morning brought to our room with hot coffee was excellent. Yogurt with granola, fruit and toast were fresh and delicious. View from pool is spectacular and we had it to ourselves most days. No scrambling for a lounge chair like other resorts. Our room was on same level as pool and kitchen so no steps to go ask for coffee refills or go back and forth to pool. Staff arranged our travel from airport and back and helped us when we left our passports behind in the room. They made us feel very much at home.
