The Deer Park Hotel, hotel in Polonnaruwa

The Deer Park Hotel is located on the banks of Giritale Reservoir, 10 km from Polonnaruwa Wihara. The stylish 5-star hotel offers an outdoor pool, 4 dining options and free parking.

The staff were wonderful & they accommodated our family very well. Notably we wanted Sri Lankan dishes not offered on the menu and they gladly catered for this. We stayed with two young kids and they loved the wildlife that is available at the property.

Ima Villa Sigiriya, hotel in Polonnaruwa

Situated in Sigiriya, 2.5 km from Pidurangala Rock, Ima Villa Sigiriya features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant.

Ima Villa is a fantastic place to relax, eat and plan your jouney. The people are rely kind, and will help you however they can. I would recommend everyone who plans on staying at Ima Villa to check out their Menu. I had the lake fish curry an it was truly delicious! The room was very cosy and the AC was and absolute game changer. Also, if you like it quiet, Ima Villa isn't located in the touristic part of Sigiriya. Try it, and you will love it!

Very welcoming and friendly manager of a family-run resort that has been thought out really well. Beautiful, relaxing little park around the pool, with nice lighting at night. Our 2 days stay at this place was the most relaxing in our 4 weeks tour through Sri Lanka. Food is good, including breakfast buffet.

From the minute we arrived we were made welcome and helped with anything we needed. The family who own Tishan Holiday Resort embody Sri Lankan hospitality and service at its very best. The pool was very welcome amid the heat of Polonnaruwa and both breakfast and evening meal offered ample choice (though no doubt adapted to Western tastes). Remember to sign the lobby wall before you leave!

We were only at Tishan resort for 2 nights as I wanted to explore the ancient ruins. The resort is little bit out of town but this is a bonus as it’s surrounded by paddy fields and forest I hired a bike and cycled around the ruins which was very interesting. We ate at the resort both nights and food was very good. We would have preferred to stay another night so we could relax by the pool and gardens.

Beautiful, clean, spacious room. There are two very nice new buildings with two units each. The garden is lovely and we sat on the balcony and watched the birds. Breakfast was exceptional and plentiful & dinner was the best that we had in Sri Lanka, everything was fresh and flavorful. Kithmi is away from the main road so it is quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend Kithmi Resort, it is a true gem.

What a lush, well-cared for resort, between the gardens surrounding the lodge and the pool grounds. Very relaxing place, clean, good beds, loved their vegetable curry. Really benefited from their recommendations on guides to ancient sites, Chami is a young but passionate guide. Family running the resort is very sweet, attentive and helpful at every turn.

Warm welcomes and conversational owners made it truly feel like home. Lots of nature and cute decor, including the wall of messages from previous visitors! The rooms were spacious and very clean, especially the bathrooms. Food was flavourful and arrived quickly. I would highly recommend this resort!

Thanu and Tishan could not have done more for us! They arranged everything we asked for with no fuss. We stayed an extra night to really enjoy the sparkling pool. Dinner was great and if you want something light the vegetable omelette was the best! Stay in the two rooms by the pool, space and luxury with your own patio and table.
