Hotel in Sumy
Hotel Complex Voskresenskiy is located in the heart of Sumy town, a 10-minute walk from the Central Market. It offers air-conditioned rooms with a TV and fridge. This was my 10th stay at this hotel, and it is the only one I will use when I stay in Sumy. The location is perfect, right next to the downtown without actually being right on a noisy pedestrian street. This was my first time with a balcony room, and it was great with a long view of the city, market, bridge, etc. It was a spacious room and huge bathroom, and I frequently made tea and kept my food in the refrigerator. The staff is friendly, efficient, and helpful. Overall, it was an ideal and affordable hotel, which is why I keep returning.

Sumy is a small town. It is somewhat hilly but thats good to walk off the fabulous food! Most everything is in a walking distance. People are friendly and eager to help! There is a museum that holds Sumy history of which some is very disturbing. I felt very safe and will return to Sumy again.
Not a whole lot to see here. "Downtown" is a short walk across the bridge and has a nice church and a pedestrian shopping mall (sort of). The lake near the apartment was nice to walk around and mingle with locals out for a stroll. There is a shopping center on the lake path that had a few shops, grocery store and fast food. There are some good places to eat in town but they are not so easy to find. Best to consult TripAdvisor and get a taxi to the address. I ate at several recommended places and they were all good and all cheap. Sumy is not the easiest place to get to. You can take a train from Kiev which takes about 6 or 7 hours to go 200kms! I think it costs about $12 one way. There are small buses from the bus depot near the main Kiev train station that leave almost hourly and they take about 5 to 6 hours on some terrible roads! I took the train there and the bus back. The bus ride was about $9. You can also take taxis apparently but they cost over $100 I think and don't get you there any faster.
Sumy is a very lovely small cozy city to relax and enjoy the greenery,Flowers in the spring and summer. different types of museums of Sumy over the years as well as pleasant art gallery, Monument of the recognition of the solders of WWII is nicely done. Large park to walk through with nice river to enjoy. If you like rowing great river to enjoy it in.
Sumy is a decent town - not too big and busy - but not much to see or do. The best part was staying at Zdybanka - right on the bank of the Psel River - the place was delightful. I stayed there a week and didn't want to leave. Beautiful river walk - complete with a gypsy on the bridge playing the accordion (really well) - perfect old world sound track.
I have been to Sumy many times, it's a beautiful city if you know where to go... Otherwise you would get really bored
Sumy is a nice city in ENE Ukraine not far from the Russian Border... lots of shops, malls, restaurants, and history, museum, and theatre!
Sumy is a small city by Ukrainian standards, but because it’s the state capital there a lot of things to do, nice parks, restaurants and such. The people are friendly!
This is the best hotel in Sumy, and I have stayed here over a dozen times. The staff is professional, efficient, and very friendly; the location is conveniently in the city center and close to all interesting cafes and shops and sights; the rooms are spacious, modern, and very comfortable and quiet; all amenities are available, including tea and a refrigerator in the room and a great restaurant in the hotel. I will definitely stay here again when I return later this month and every time I visit Sumy.
The good, Sumy hostels are a little on the expensive side but this hostel is low priced. In fact, it's a motel, of single rooms, not dorm rooms, so the price is excellent. There is a kettle and microwave. The manager is a 'good guy'. It's a straight go from the bus station. A longish walk but not too far and if you're traveling light and very' easy to find. They have chickens nearby, so fresh eggs!
The hotel is close to the train station. Girl at check in was very very nice, friendly and helpful. I like the style of the hotel. Huge hallways. very spacious rooms. It was quite cold that day and without asking for it they brought me extra bedsheets. ATB supermarket is nearby, calm area. a 15 minutes straight walk to the left and you are in the center of Sumy. Stayed 2 days, will certainly come back.
