Unfortunately there are no too much flowers like the other Ukrainian cities . But still Kherson is a quiet and green city .
This city has an unusually large amount of high quality restaurants and cafes. In fact, probably more than a city 2 or 3 times its size. No matter what styles and cuisines you like, Kherson has it. Italian, French, Japanese, British pub style or even American styles. Its all here. I would need 2 weeks more just to visit all the great places here but my favorites this trip were Mozart, Joy café and Al Capone's. This city also have the largest and newest shopping mall within 3 hours drive any direction. you can spend 2 days here and still not do everything it has to offer. Jump park, bowling, go carts, cinema and so much more....and of course shopping!
Very pleasantly surprised with Kherson. For a former Soviet city it had a lot of charm and character. Lovely atmosphere to the city centre. People were very friendly. Plenty of options for coffee shops and good restaurants. Incredibly good value. I was there on business but would consider stopping off in Kherson for a short break with my family as part of a bigger trip to the region.. Odessa is not very far away. But the roads in Kherson and the Ukraine in general (I hear) are in terrible condition.
sadly only a brief call in Kherson fo a day , but the John Howard Pub was like a home away from home and local food was excellent
Kherson is an old industrial city, full of old Soviet icons some they are proud of and others not ....the people are genuine and welcoming there are some really nice restaurants and it is relatively cheap to eat and stay there...taxis are cheap so don't be scared to visit askania nova or the sea
Kherson for me is a calm relaxed city.. with good restaurants and coffee shops. I feel comfortable there
It looks like a slum of the country but on the other hand it could be better if they weren't on edge about the war. The best way to injoy kherson that i found out is to have cash and lots of it.
