Dar Ayed Tamezret features a garden, bar, barbecue facilities and shared lounge in Tamezret. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Dar Ayed was definitely the best place we stayed during our trip to Tunisia. It is a beautiful Dar, where you would get a friendly vibe. The staff was super nice and helpful. We enjoyed using the pool. The breakfast was tasty. And I definitely suggest trying the local cuisine cooked for lunch or dinner.
Matmata
Maison d'hôtes DAR DRISS is situated in Matmata. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. Amazing location and amenities. The host woke up at 7am to make us an early breakfast and we greatly appreciated it.
Tamezret
Located in Tamezret in the Gabes region, Auberge de Tamezret features a patio. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the guest house free of charge. This is by far one of the most special places we’ve been to. I read a review where one said it was worth the 500 km detour from Tunis, I’ll give you a better one: it’s worth a 4000 km detour from Amsterdam! The setting, the views, the amazing rooms, the village itself, the location, the hospitality and company and above all, the delicious dinner and breakfast. It was perfect from start to finish. Sabrina and Patrick, you have created something unique down there. Thx for everything. À la prochaine, insAllah.

This is definitely what you want to experience in Matmata, the cave room! Very good experience, cooling in the afternoon and not cold at night, without any fan or air-conditioner! Very helpful staff there and they are trying all their best to up-keep the hotel, constantly cleaning every corners.... but don't forget, this is a desert. It's dry and dusty! (Don't expect this to be a swimming pool resort!) The dinner is good, worth included in your room rate!
