The staff is very polite, smiling, kind, helpful, some of the best service I've experienced in Romania (and I live in Romania for 2 years now). I've taken a bigger room, the extra space was wonderful, a separate living room, very comfortable for what I needed to host a meeting aside from the bedroom. The amnesties in the bathroom are perfect, double kits (1 per person), all packed very neatly and branded nicely. Super clean, very well maintained. The room smelled good, no smoke smell (very important to me), AC was perfect, TVs working great (new models), remote controls CLEAN!! Dinner was fantastic, the dining area has a feel of fine dining with a touch of comfort, the waiting staff was so kind, so helpful, the recommendations were excellent. We had Anchos Salad (fantastic big portion) and Escelope Turkey, the turkey was VERY juicy with crispiness on the outside, coupled with smooth mushrooms mashed potatos which was done to perfection and had home made side gravy (mouth watering). Breakfast is tasty. Relaxed, Good mix of Veggies, Cheese, Meat, Good chocolate croissants, fruits, good coffee, good atmosphere. I don't smoke but there is a smoking balcony, which is great for separation and demand for those that want to smoke while eating. I have nothing but good things to say. Seriously top notch hospitality.

What I like about my hometown is that you can walk in most of the places at any hour safely- hopefully, this will stay! Downtown is a lovely place to visit and walk around, plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a famous bakery- cake shop-Cofetaria Teatru where they have some of the nicest ice creams, cakes and sweets. A very good restaurant for all tastes: Casa Vranceana ( there is also pizza place where you can have some of the best pizza's you have ever had, trust me!). Focsani is the main city of Vrancea County, encompassing 3 winery regions: Odobesti, Cotesti, and Panciu. Wine has been always cheap in the place, an old saying states that " Vrancea men drink only wine"- this is not true nowadays, wine is still affordable though Romania has a 0 tolerance on drink and driving! Here you can visit also Mausoleum Marasesti- a WW1 memorial ( a must to visit, you will learn how a small local peasant army backed by few Russian and Romanian machine guns defeated the strong, well trained and fed German Army, fighting with knives on top of their rifles after finishing the bullets!). To get around I would strongly advise the use of a local taxi company- Ral- it has satellite supervision and you are safe. There is very good public transportation, also you may want to use. If you do not know anyone or your Romanian is basic, I would recommend for your first visit to book it online and to plan ahead. As I said, it is a safe place, almost everyone knows everyone around, the crime rate is low though watch your wallet and belongings especially in crowded areas. During summer time, when there are more tourists around, you may see more police around and downtown is perfectly fine anywhere. There are party places, too during the summer time mostly. As Romania has harsh winters like Russia, I would recommend only the ski places for winter lovers to visit during this time of the year.
