The pool and sauna were very nice, not crowded at all (2-3 couples at all times), very spacious, with an amazing view (the lake, of course). The pool and sauna are included in the price of the room, while the massage is not. The pool is open from around 8 or 9 AM until 9 PM, so there is plenty of time to visit it. We stayed in a double room with twin beds. We had the usual commodities: slippers, bathrobes, clean towels replaced every day, a kettle, minibar with water and soda. The staff was nice, the food was tasty. There are many activities if you decide to stay in the hotel - pool table, darts, air hockey, playground for children. We also took a boat ride.

We only went to Curtea de Arges because we wanted to visit the monastery with same name. The monastery and the complex surrounding it was wonderful. Otherwise, there isn't very much else to do in town. We arrived in the afternoon, went to visit the monastic complex, had dinner and breakfast and left the next morning. Good gateway to transfagarasan and transalpine road, which are excellent.
It's too far out from anywhere and there is nothing there, apart from the fact that there are two restaurants, one in either direction, being about a five minute or so drive away each. I wouldn't recommend walking to them. The pension is very basic although comfortable and clean, with a very nice shower. Nearest attractions are the Poianari castle about twenty mins away by car and the town of Curta de Arges about twenty mins also.
City centre is pleasant, varied food options. Forest park, Trivale, good for escape. Pitesti is a good base for going TransFagarasan( with a visit to Curtea de Arges on the way.)
Besides the very famous "Curtea de Arges" Monastery, go and visit a much less known Monastery "Curtea Domneasca". You will find there a very knowledgeable volunteer to introduce you in the history of this church from the 13th century. The older paintings are following an apocriphal bible. You see icons and representations you never see otherwise, like Virgin Mary pregnant.
Curtea de Arges resonate with Romanian history and need to be kept at a higher standard. Too much cheap business around monastery and Manoles fountain.
Stunning scenery, but be aware the road can do with some repair. It is easy to get around coming from Curtea de Arges, stop and take a look around Vidraru dam. We had a quick lunch at Cumpana, unfortunately the 7 km from the main road to the location are quite an adventure even with an SUV on dry road. We had excellent dinner and accommodation at Cabana Capra.
We liked the beautiful orthodox church, the reasonably priced restaurants, the short distance to Poenari Castle and the relatively short distance (2 hours by car) to Bâlea Lake high up in the Carpathian Mountains. The town is situated in a lush valley surrounded by green hills and we hoped there would be options for hiking, cycling and walks. Regrettably, this kind of tourism is not developed in Curtea de Arges.

Curtea de Argeş
This is an apartment on the ground floor in a building with a code at the entrance. The apartment was clean and spacious. Everything was clean. The apartment is about a 7-10 minute walk from the Cortea de Arges monastery where the kings of Romania are buried. The same evening we arrived was the feast day of The Dormition of Virgin Mary so we went to see the shows and stalls they had set up and it was also about 5 minutes away from the unit.
Curtea de Argeş
Good location. The apartment has 2 balconies ,quite small both but better than none. Close to some restaurants and small and big shops. Close to few touristic attractions like : around 500 meters to Curtea de Arges Monastery ,around 1 km to Curtea Veche and City Museum. The location is good to use it as a base for trips around : one hour drive to Olt Valley , 30 min drive to Vidraru Dam and Poenari Ruins and Transfagarasan Road.
Curtea de Argeş
Very modern, clean and great location. All mod cons in the apartment, shower especially good. Just off the main street of Curtea de arges, short walk to restaurants, pubs and shops. Host was extremely nice and helpful. Superb base for visiting all the tourist attractions and amenities in the area. Only 1 hour drive approximately from Balea Lake and the world famous Transfagarasan. I would recommend to anyone.

The apartments are new, well equipped, clean, near the city center of Pitesti and close to the Trivale park. We were here to watch the Euro youth championship handball in Pitesti. We also had time to visit the Drakula castle in Bran and nice cities like Brasov and Sibiu! Curtea de Arges and the Transfagarasan route are nearby! Fantastic! We would like to thank the Forest Boutique team for our nice stay!
It is an excellent hotel in the centre of Curtea de Arges, very convenient location, with good restaurant, and a walking distance to the main touristic attractions of the city. We enjoyed our big room with its facilities, the tasty breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. We were delighted with the water pressure in the shower, really high! After long walks, that shower is divine!
5 stars for the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. The location has a very nice pool and the location is on the shore of Arges. I can't say anything about the restaurant, because we have not used it, but I have noticed people are coming to Star Hotel for parties, which makes me think the Restaurant could be a different story than the hotel.

The location is perfect, 10 minutes from the city centre, close to a local mall and 2 beautiful parks by the river Arges. The hosts were wonderful, easy to communicate with and quick to reply. The apartment is beautifully decorated with Romanian motifs here and there. Modern, cosy, great value!
Hotel is built in the 1970's but recently undergone a high end renovation, and rooms are very clean and tastefully decorated. Good location, close to downtown, restaurants and Curtea de Arges monastery. Parking and breakfast was included in the room price.
Hotel Arges is perfectly located in the Center of Pitesti. Everything you need is in walking distance from the hotel. I loved my stay and would stay there again. ❤️❤️

I liked everything about the stay, the view from the rooms, the breakfast was so good and you have alot of space at property that you can sit and watch the sunset. It was so clean and the beds are comfortable.
Dwelling in a lush forest, Sunrise Glamping is the pefect place for retreat. Marius, the owner adds to the general fragrance with his excellent breakfast and hearty hospitality. This was our second time in Sunrise Glamping and its just getting better.
