Maitai Rangiroa is located between the villages of Avatoru and Tiputa, on one of the largest lagoons in the Southern Hemisphere. Excellent hotel with an equally excellent restaurant on-site. I also spent a lot of times at my friends hotel, the Kia Ora, and we both agreed that the Maitai was nicer at half the price.

Located in Avatoru, Te Mao has a garden, terrace, water sports facilities, and free WiFi. I like the sea view, the quiet time to relax and snorkle. The possibilities to rent a bike and the owner being so nice driving me around to grocery store and airport.

Chez taia et véro is exceptional! Taia and véro are lovely hosts and will make sure you feel 100% comfortable. The breakfast is plenty and the place is spacious and clean. Awesome location, 1minute from the ocean, very quite. Taia made us one night dinner and it was soooo delicious. I recommend to stay there. If we find ourselves in tiputa again, we will stay with taia and véro again.

What is really special about that place is the owner- she makes the best ambience, take care of the guests herself and goes far beyond the expectations. They know everyone and it was easy to book excursions through them. The bungalow is brand new. Quiet location and great A/C and kitchenette. The owners have taken alot of pride in the bungalow and it shows. Fresh passion fruit and baguette brought every morning for breakfast!

This apartment offers free bikes as well as a garden. The accommodation features free Wifi throughout the property, as well as a terrace and a restaurant. We expected our stay in Tiputa to be slightly off the beaten path - and it was, for the best of it! The property is at the "remote" end of the village, on the ocean shore - enjoy the noise of breakers during the night! First floor, nice view. No light pollution - enjoy the view of the Milky Way at night. Beyond the beauty of Rangiroa (expected), we were warmly welcome by the owner's family, who did everything to make us feel at home. Bread, butter, jam were offered for breakfast, and the "restaurant" they recommended was... the neighbor's yard, with 4 tables and a "beware of the dog" sign on the porch. The dog is nice and well-behaved, the cook very friendly and focused on healthy local dishes with fresh (garden-plucked) ingredients, which were outstanding (and more than decently priced)! Thank you for everything, this was a highlight of our vacation in Tahiti.

The host and their family were very friendly, helpful and thoughtful people. We would definitely recommend staying there. They also offer excursions. Rangiroa Cottage in Avatoru provides accommodations with a garden, a bar, and barbecue facilities. This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, free private parking, and free Wifi. This place is beautiful, very comfortable and extremely well located. I was in both of the high-end hotels on Rangiroa during my stay, and I felt that Rangiroa Cottage was just as nice. If you prefer the independence of staying in a home, then this is a far superior option. On top of that, it is much cheaper.
Actually we didn't have the chance to explore the town as transportation was hard to get. There were bikes to rent at the hotel for about $8/hour and the town is about 6 km from the hotel. We would probably have done it in the late afternoon if the staff didn't disprove of for safety reasons - bikes didn't have lights and it would have been hard to ride after sunset. So apart from the diving, we were kind a tied to stay in the hotel. The food was good, but the second day the variety of fish form the menu got poor. In general, Rangiroa is famous for its diving sites. If you are a diver you'll enjoy your stay.
Tiputa
Had a wonderful time at Moana Breeze. Marco and his family went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensured we had a great time on Rangiroa. Bikes were provided which made it easy to get around the island or to the grocery store, but Marco was always willing to give us a ride if we needed to get anywhere. We were also helped when it came to organizing excursions or day trips. The apartment was very comfortable and spacious. Would be thrilled to return one day.

Very beautiful hotel with everything you could need for a great stay in Rangiroa.
Sophie (owner of the lodge who also runs it) was very helpful and an amazing host, nothing was a hassle for her. She organised for us last minute an amazing tour, which everyone else seemed to say no to. It was the best tour we’ve been on in a long time! Dinner is on a long table which makes it a nice family style. There are bikes for guests to use and paddle/kayaks all complimentary which was very nice. The beach in front of the lodge is small and we had it all to ourselves (everyone was out on excursions) which made it feel like we were in our own private little area. Thank you for the experience you have created for us!
