I will recomend Colima for business or pleasure Hotel Ceballos people will pick you up and take you to the airport just asking! They are very friendly people very professional and polite. Colima is the capitol of Manzanillo port and beach That is famous for his fishing tournaments!!
Colima is generally friendly and people are very helpful and kind. Easy to get around by taxi and the volcano is incredible.
Colima is one of those little secrets even a few Mexicans don't even know about. Colima and it's people has been blessed by nature and you can see it in every corner: Giant palm trees full of coconuts, mango trees throwing delicious and ripen mangoes at you every seconds, for free!... and of course tons and tons of lime, bananas and fruits you cannot even pronounce!. The food is great and very cheap. THe city is very clean and the people is as friendly as it can be , you almost feel like everyone knows you!. The beaches of Manzanillo are excellent and beautiful. The capital city of Colima, that shares the same name as the State is an excellent balance between new and old. Tecoman is the capital of fruit in Mexico, and it has excellent (the best) surf waves in the World. Period. And Comala is just amazing, settled in the sorrounding area of the Volcano, if offers an excellent weather and the best bread and coffee in the region. I have been lucky enough to have visited Colima over 15 times in my lifetime and I can never get enough of it!
Colima is small, but it is a gem. Great parks, lovely city scenery, fun little neighborhoods and streets and so much to do around the valley. Base out of Colima and explore more, it shouldn't be missed.
My family and I want to keep Colima a secret! This part of Mexico has been blessed with incredible scenery and friendly people. Colima is a clean and beautiful city with access to mountains and the beach. You can go up toward the "Volcan de Colima" or down to the beach within an hour. Either way you go, you will be amazed by the beautiful deep green scenery around you. The city itself is worth knowing driving or walking. I rented a car in Guadalajara and drove down to Colima with my family. Great family vacation. We will come back.
Colima, Colima, is a very together city. You don't want to be wearing shorts here....unless you just want to stand out further as a gringo. There is no trash on the streets. The museums and the zocalo are wonderful. There are numerous parks, movie theatres and even a mall if you really need one. the city is very busy on the weekends, so don't go a a Monday, as many restaurants are closed due to the busy weekends. It's like an unofficial holiday. I have been here numerous times and have always loved it. the ladies really like it for the shoe stores!.....The taxis are inexpensive. One can go across town for 20 pesos(as of Feb. 2017). There are specialty Mescal stores for those who love the brew with the worm included, and a great mid-town mercado. If you want to take it all in...visit in February after valentines. Do the Calbalgata(horse parade) it goes on for 2hrs. Go to the toros at the Petatera(google it), if you don't like bullfights(the bulls die) don't go! Viva Mexico!....Saludos! Norm
Colima is a very handsome city and very easy to navigate. The many plazas are some of the nicest in Mexico. Taxis are very reasonable and available. There were no restaurants near our hotel. By the time we got eating figured out we ended up walking 10 blocks to a VIPS. Restaurants on the main plaza were just o.k.
Tray the food 🥘 very nice and friendly people nice weather. Cómala small town bat very nice, you are getting around to Colima very easy even if you don't the city. Algo the beaches are beautiful the seafood fresh and delicious. IPAs a good time.
Comala is a small beautiful pueblo mágico.. the plaza is surrounded by palm coco trees giving it that coastal vibe. The town has some of the best ponche, sweet bread, and coffee. The Juan Rulfo museum offers information on the town, be sure to head up to the roof top for those nice town views. Read Pedro Páramo and El Llamo en Llamas.. Juan Rulfo is one of my favorite authors from Sayula, Jalisco. Also, if you are lucky and weather permits, you can see the Colima Volcano.
Colima is a beautiful colonial city with a very old history. And in February they have a several week long horse festival, including horse parades from the main plaza to the fair grounds. Where they have a yearly hand built stadium, called La Petatera. This is very much like a state fair for horses, especially Mexican style dancing horses and riders. Well worth your efforts to travel to Colima.
I booked the least expensive room, which turned out to be an internal room with no windows. It was nice, but I wanted to see and hear the streets. I asked to change rooms and got upgraded at no charge to a room overlooking the walk street. It was 2x the size of the other room and was fantastic. I awoke each morning to the sound of the Cathedral bells across the street. I will definitely go back to Colima and will stay at the best Hotel in the city once again!
What a breathe of fresh air. Not only do they have some English-speaking staff, but the location of this hidden gem can not be beat. The girls were all incredibly friendly, my room had a great view of the square/fountain, and I felt safe throughout my entire stay. I found my new favorite hotel in Colima. Thank you Juarez 70, I hope to see you all again soon!
A very clean and comfortable hotel for a stay in Colima. It's a short walk from anywhere you might want to go. Room was large and great value.
In the heart of downtown Colima, everything at good walking distance. The hotel staff was friendly.
The staff was extremely friendly and fun Amazing view of the beach Food was delicious
staff help, golf cart transportation, maintenance issues were dealt with promptly,
Great value for being steps away from beach, and walking distance to downtown waterfront area. Choice of 3-4 fun beach "shack" restaurants within 500 m of hotel. Industrial area location is a bit intimidating at first, but people are friendly, and I felt safe, despite not seeing another gringo in area for 3 night stay. This beach is popular w/local families, which is great to see. Place is pet-friendly, and our dogs loved it! There is a lighthouse point on the malecon, which gives you a close-up view of gargantuan container ships coming into port.
Great staff ,very friendly and helpful
Great owner great staff good location. Needs a better restaruant
Friendly and quick check-in at reception. Decent restaurant on site. Again, a nice easy process for checking out. Provided a small bottle of water in room.
Room space / area and hotel location are excellent... breakfast is above my expectation.
