Located in Monaragala, 26 miles from Demodara Nine Arch Bridge, SAYON RIVER COTTAGE & ECO GARDEN provides accommodations with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. We only stayed one night but the staff & owner was very helpful & caring, waited for us as we arrived bit late & also provided us a cup of tea on our own balcony in the beautiful tree house overlooking the river. The hotel is much more better than pictures put up by the management, We got everything we requested. The best rice & curry of sri Lanka is available in this river cottage.Amazing breakfast .

Very nice and welcoming place to stay. Very friendly, kind, supportive and caring staff. So much value for the money that we spent. We enjoyed Large bedroom with 2 large and comfortable beds with airconditioning facilities, attached bathroom with hot water facilities together with common kitchen, dining and living areas that gave us a wonderful and memorable country experience. I felt home in this inviting resort and I appreciate the loving staff who took care of us throughout our stay. Our experience is great in this precious resort.

This resort has saved my faith in the beauty of Sri lanka. It is a little paradise on this island. to anyone who has an imagination, I heartily recommends it. The buildings and the workmanship of every detail is stunning in their beauty. It is located on the edge of the holy city of Kataragama and has its own access to the river , where you can cool down. the food is made from local vegetables and is wonderful. The Jungle welcomes you with a multitude of animals and the sounds of nature, which is everywhere. The character of the place is boho, and not for the fearful. Every day there are evening concerts on drums and possible dances. Everyone can participate. A wonderful, unusual place for relaxation and also a safari in Yala Park which the resort organizes. I fell in love with this place.

Truly exceptional. Comfy bed with large bedroom (lake view) . Breakfast was really yummy, friendly staff as well. We both enjoyed our stay there. We checked in on 01st January 2024 and such a lovely start for year 2024 !
