Situated in Phumĭ Mréch, 46 km from Beng Mealea, Koh Ker Hotel and Restaurant features accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool and a garden. This was a wonderful, tranquil haven with a slightly cooler climate than in some of the other places we stayed. It was very different to a lot of Cambodian accommodation and had a distinctly European feel. It was an ideal base for a few days of quiet relaxation and exploration of the local area. It is in a rural area surrounded by fruit, pepper and casava fields/ plantations. We also took up the kind offer from the owner to use their bikes to explore the Koh Ker temples. We haven't been on bikes in years but it was a great way to spend the day and to look round the temples at our own pace! The restaurant had a European feel too serving a great choice of options.

I stayed for one night in Tbeng Meanchey and used it as a base to visit Preah Vihear Temple. The owner was so kind to help me find a reliable driver to the temple and went the extra mile to make sure I'd enjoy my stay. There's some truly beautiful wooden art in the property and the room was comfortable.
