The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The air conditioning in our room did not work initially, but the staff was immediately attentive to it and had the problem solved. The rooms were very nice. Wonderful place and good staff
This property exudes old world charm, and the views are spectacular. The drive up the mountain to the hotel is a little bit shaky because of the narrow road and hairpin turns, but that’s part of the charm. Situated in a small village atop Santa Maria del Monte whose main focal point is a magnificent UNESCO recognized church covered with frescoes, statues and mosaics. One can spend the day exploring the history, streets and alleys of the village. And the majestic views from the hotel are stunning! Now, the Hotel restaurant - simply amazing! We had an “eight thoughts of the chef” experience that featured eight separate courses of divine creativity , superb presentation, attentive service and exquisite dining. The meal was magnificent and could have been better ONLY if it had been warm enough to dine al fresco. The decision to stay here was spur of the moment, and it was truly the highlight of our journey. we highly recommend Hotel Colonne!

The location was excellent. The staff always very responsive. The breakfast was relaxing and in a perfect setting overlooking the pool and lake.
Another lovely old house redone with modern bathrooms. We were given a large suite so we would be away from the noise of a larger group staying below. It was thoughtful. A nice host.

Fascinating room with an interesting design! Clean, comfortable. Wide bed. Very quiet, although in the middle of the city. Shops and restaurants around the corner. Train station and bus stop 10 min walking. Breakfast was bought to the room! I'm thankful!

It’s wonderful location next to UNESCO church the room was nice and can see view of Varese, the restaurant in the hotel it’s amazing food. I love the staff very nice and helpful.
The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Dining at the restaurant is a must as the food and service is first class.
The location was good. Not far to walk to shops for food, the train station, the lake. The balcony was nice to have.
