The Roundthorn Country House and luxury self-catering Mews Apartments are set in landscaped gardens, with panoramic views of the Eden Valley and Lakeland Fells. First class hotel. Friendly helpful staff, beautiful, comfortable room and excellent food. We were driving south from Scotland to Liverpool to join a cruise ship, unfortunately due to bad weather conditions our itinerary was changed and we elected not to sail. I rang the hotel on our way back north and were delighted that they were able to give us the same room. Would definitely stay at Roundthorn again.

The Crown Inn Pooley Bridge has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Pooley Bridge. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. The staff were so welcoming and helpful from start to finish. The Crown Inn, is well located and is very charming. An excellent combination of traditional with a modern twist. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast. We stayed in room 17 which was on the top floor and had beautiful views of the lake. All in all, our stay was everything we could have wished for and we will definitely be back.

Located in Penrith in Cumbria, just 7 miles from the Lake District Park, The Lounge Hotel & Bar offers a restaurant and a bar, just 5 miles from Lake Ullswater. The Lounge Team was wonderful! They went above and beyond to be welcoming and helpful hosts. They made me love Penrith! Also, the included breakfast was delicious. They did a great job of accommodating my allergies/restrictions. It is also in a prime location near ample shops and restaurants.

Just outside of Penrith, the Brantwood Hotel is less than 3 miles from Ullswater. Just one mile from the junction 40 of M6 it offers en suite bedrooms and TVs. Nice location . Staff helpful and friendly

The traditional The George Hotel, stands in the very centre of the bustling market town of Penrith on the edge of the Lake District and the North Pennines. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was lovely, location excellent. Our room was great!

Boasting an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, and modern rooms, the 4-star luxury North Lakes Hotel and Spa, is located just off the M6 motorway. Perfect location, hotel, staff and food. The breakfast was excellent, set us up for the whole day. Never felt rushed, fabulous menu choice.

Awarded a 3-star rating by VisitEngland, this independently-run hotel in the idyllic village of Edenhall is only 3 miles from Penrith and junction 40 of the M6. The location and hotel were beautiful. Quiet and lovely grounds to enjoy. The staff were welcoming and helpful.

The Station Hotel Penrith features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Penrith. The owner and all of the staff were terrific. They helped with my luggage, check-in, and gave suggestions about local sites. The owner checked me in, then later cooked my dinner and in the morning made my breakfast! These two last items are not easy with my dietary constraints but he went out of his way to make sure I had a perfect stay.

Set in Penrith, 9.3 km from Askham Hall, The castlegate arms offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a bar. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The food was fabulous!! It was located near the train station so it was extremely convenient.
