Hotel in Campbeltown
Dellwood Hotel is set on the main road into Campbeltown. Set In its own grounds and 5 minutes’ walk from the town centre, the family-run Dellwood has a restaurant, bar and free WiFi. The Dellwood was wonderfully hospitable and was great part of my stay in Campbeltown. Tracey and Bruce greeted me with some of the warmest hospitality I have ever received. They made me feel like I was staying at my favorite aunt and uncle’s home. The view over the town was incredible with clear sight lines of the sunrise over the harbor. Glen Scotia is literally a stones throw away and Springbank Distillery/Downtown Campbeltown is <8 minute walk. There is also a grocery store under a 5 minute walk nearby for last minute snacks/drinks/and supplies. Adjacent to the lobby there is an adorable bar and dining room. The entire property is uniquely decorated, clean, and very well maintained for such an older building. Great representation of the charm and magic that is Campbeltown! My only regret is that I had an early bus and wasn’t able to stay for the full breakfast (It had my mouth WATERING as I passed by. Bruce was so kind and packed me a bacon sandwich while Tracey had stocked me up with snacks for the trip, so thoughtful!).

Staying in the Carradale Hotel on our Kintyre Trail, we have been very welcome by the team, being a "Very dog friendly" Hotel, even the dog had a welcome box with treats (and p** bags). The room facing to the shore line was spacious, comfortable and quiet. We had nice walks around the area. The meal in the evening was mind blowing: Mostly locally sourced fine angus beef, fresh local Langoustines, fresh "Churros" filled with caramel cream... Also a nice garden/beer garden with excellent views.
Glenbarr
We visited for one night out of season.. Glenbarr is a tiny hamlet on the Atlantic coast of the Kintyre peninsula. The room was warm and comfortable and very quiet. There was also a communal living/dining/kitchen for use if required. We went to a local hotel for our meal but will use the kitchen facilities when we return. Breakfast was taken in the adjoining café, continental breakfast with a hot roll which was good. We would stay here again.
Tarbert
A great base to explore the Kintyre peninsula and the islands of Gigha, Isla and Arran. Apartment was clean, cosy and comfortable. Even the dog was catered for with towels, bowls and toys. Equipped with everything needed for a self catering break. 5 minutes from the nearest small supermarket and other amenities in Tarbert. The owners are friendly and informative.
Campbeltown
It was a lovely apartment right near the harbour in Campbeltown. The host has thought of everything, even milk and teabags, and tunnocks teacakes. It was exceptionally clean, and the facilities were excellent. Best shower ever!!! Already planning my next visit to stay there. A lovely space to stay and relax in whilst exploring Kintyre.
Bellochantuy
Beach front location. Argyll Hotel right beside the small caravan site. The hotel has a bar and does amazing food. The beach is very quiet and clean golden sands. Roads are quiet and the Kintyre Peninsula is feels very secluded and not touristy. Dog friendly caravan and hotel.
The quaint hotel is quite centrally placed in Campbeltown and easily reached by bus or car. Staff was friendly, check-in was fast. Covid protection was mostly observed. Room had a kettle and tea. We used it as a base for hiking the southern part of the Kintyre Way.
For Scottish people, the breakfast is copious. For French people it is less elaborate. However we would appreciate with bread, jam, marmalade and butter, a fruit and a yogurt with cereals and milk (especially for the walkers on the Kintyre way).
Excellent breakfast which we paid for as an extra because we booked via booking . Com . Great location to explore Mull of Kintyre - fabulous as hotel is right by the sea and wonderful views from dining/ lounge area .
Campbeltown
The location was ideal for us as it is just round the corner from our daughter which is why we chose it. It is in a good location for anyone on holiday in Kintyre. It is a self catering apartment.
The room was really roomy. The location was great. Lovely view. Nice and quiet. Lovely breakfast
The location is beautiful, the rooms look really nice, beds were comfortable and breakfast is good
Very relaxing place. Excellent work by the caretakers. Functional facilities. Ideal for our needs over the weekend.
Lovely welcome from the owners, fantastic breakfast and the extra touch of home baking was really nice and much appreciated :-)
Overall comfort and hospitality with a very welcoming host and three lovely dogs!
Nice room, good bed and very friendly reception. Thanks Hugh!
Friendly staff helpful with suggestions. Comfortable room. Delicious food (dinner and breakfast) and great bar!
