The breakfast was satisfying although I have had more choice at other hostels/hotels The location was perfect for travelling needs. Really enjoyed the old fashioned Finnish ambiance. Shower, although antique in design was one of the best power showers that I have ever had! Great café downstairs. To try their cakes is a must.

Located 250 metres from Lappari Activity Park and 10 minutes' walk from Haparanda, this hotel features 3 restaurants. There is also a relaxation area with 3 saunas and an indoor pool and gym. The staff was really hospitable and figured our group of 26 people a meeting room at night to gather up and spend some time together.

Grand Hotel Mustaparta is located in Tornio. The hotel also provides free WiFi and free private parking. At the hotel, each room has a desk, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen and towels.... Really generous rooms, great value.

Hotel Yöpuu is in southern Kemi, next to European Route E8 and a 5-minute drive from the city centre. It offers international cuisine, free sauna access and free parking. Decided to stay there because of the photos and was not disappointed, this place is beautiful, especially with piles of snow surrounding it. The view from the room window was like a real winter wonderland. The whole hotel has a very nice atmosphere. I also loved the sauna experience! It is located in the little lighthouse on the top of the hotel. You can book it for your room at the reception, so it's all just for you. Afterwards you can go out to the terrace to enjoy the view and the winter air. Breakfast was tasty and the choices were ok, I think everyone can find something for themselves. You also have access to the shared kitchen with coffee&tea. What really cemented my opinion of this place though was the way staff and owners were doing their best to make us feel welcome and comfortable. It was truly what elevated the whole experience. They told us about the history of the place and went out of their way to help us. I would definitely come back there, maybe in summer for comparison! :)

Situated in Itäkoski, 43 km from Koivu, Maaseutuhotelli Juopperin Kartano features accommodation with a bar, free private parking, ski-to-door access and a private beach area. The location is really nice (wonderful sunset view), the manor house looks nice and the main dining/ conference room looks very nice. The rooms are big and the bed is comfortable. The communication with the host (in view of our late arrival) was really good. There is also a sauna (that we did not try in the end).
