On top of that, what perhaps wasn't mentioned so often is the vibe & attitude of the staff. All of them (inc. housekeepers) are very relaxed and very friendly. A lot, if not all, in this hotel is done with class, style and attention to details. The lobby, the music, all the furniture, the spa, the gorgeous breakfast room. And when you take the wine tour, you suddenly realize the winery is in the same building (very unique)!! I stayed for 5 nights but didn't want to leave... These people know how to run a hotel!!

A very interesting village in La Rioja and in the middle of the pilgrimage to Saint James with lots of monuments to visit, a rich Spanish regional cuisine and the ski resort of Valdezcaray just 10 miles away. An excellent place to rest either in Summer or Winter.
Historic "ciudad" in La Rioja. Very pretty and full of history. Not a lot to see but interesting walking around the small village. Much more for the wine lover to explore the Bodegas but also good base to explore and absorb the beautiful scenery and history of this region.
It is a nice little town and an excellent base from which to explore La Rioja. The villages of La Guardia and Santo Domingo de la Calzada are lovely to visit, and a short distance away. From La Guardia take a road up to the Bernedo pass for beautiful views of the valley. Logrono has what I consider to be the best Pintxos bars I have encountered in a trip that took in Bilbao and San Sebastian as well. Along Calle del Laurel there are many worth a visit - the one we loved was La Tavina. We also went to the Ontanon bodega, which doubles as a museum, and is definitely worth a visit.
Logroño for us was a central place to stay to achieve the main goal of our visit: visiting multiple bodegas in La Rioja Wine Country. We didn't get to visit Logroño as much as the surrounding areas.
Haro is a great destination for visiting La Rioja wineries. We visited several that were walking distance from the town so you can enjoy lovely Rioja without worrying about driving! Important to book though so you get the right language tour. We got a bus easily to Haro from Bilbao.
Whilst not as extremely pretty as the hilltop villages of northern La Rioja, Casalarreina has its charms - specifically some very gracious 16th century architecture with some fine old palaces and merchants houses, along with the old monastery & church. There are also two very good restaurants, if a little pricey, within walking distance & a fine bar, Boulevard, on the main street, where drinks are cheap as chips. It's also only 10 minutes drive into Haro where many the best Bodegas (Muga, Tondonia, Rioja Alta, CVNE) are located side-by-side. Highly recommend Bodega Pimiento, a big family restaurant, 5 minutes drive away in the village of Tirgo.
It's easy to get to, convenient for Haro, La Rioja, the Burgos area, or travelling back and forth to the Costa Blanca via the ferries, not far off the AP68. Parking no problem on site, which is a plus. Impressive dining-room and lounge alongside, splendid breakfast room, welcoming outside terrace area. Very good food and wine. A boutique hotel with spacious rooms and a traditional atmosphere yet with significant modern touches provided by a friendly and helpful family with an eye for detail.
People will tell you there are nicer placed to stay and visit in La Rioja. It's true that the historic villages surrounding the area are incredibly beautiful but do not skip the main city of this region! It's full of beauty & history as well as the best Pintxo bars in all of Spain, even better than San Sebastián in my opinion. I fell in love with Logrono in my 2 nights here. I will be back.

What a wonderful apartment in the perfect location in the fantastic town of Haro in La Rioja. Victor met us when we arrived and was so helpful with recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to eat at, and they were perfect recommendations. We had such a great time that we extended our stay for an extra night. The apartment for right in the centre of town, but in a quiet spot. Easy to walk to the wineries and all of the bars and restaurants. It was clean and cool. We loved it! We would definitely stay again.

Nice apartment with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Host was very friendly, welcoming and helpful . Apartment was very clean, conveniently located with parking nearby. Very nice and sunny terrace was a huge bonus. Kitchen was very well equipped. Arnedillo is a nice little place with surprising amount of nice looking and reasonably priced restaurants. Lots of hiking trails nearby. Hot springs baths looked interesting too A perfect base to explore La Rioja region. Good value for money too. Thanks !
We loved it here. I believe this was once a 16th century residence. The room was amazing. Plenty of room. The views from the windows just beautiful. We stayed 2 nights during our 3-week visit to Spain. Location is absolutely perfect for touring bodegas in La Rioja region. Their breakfast was perfect. We did have dinner one evening - excellent. We had a car and was able to park on site. All compliments. We highly recommend and will stay again if we ever return to this area of Spain.
Unlike many other stays in more conventional hotels, this palace shows an exceptional charm reminiscent of the last centuries, although perfectly rehabilitated to provide the best comfort. About the owners, the friendly treatment makes you feel like in your own family to ask, and be well informed, about sites, events and tours of beautiful places in La Rioja. Undoubtedly a place to be remembered with pleasure and to return without any doubt.

the property is excellent and very comfortable! the is located just in a small village in La Rioja and the road to Santiago. Super peaceful and quiet, with all the amenities you need. totally recommend. the owner is extremely friendly. so, if you are in Spain and in La Rioja, you definitely need to stay there. ten out of ten.
The hotel is beautiful designed and great choice of materials. The room is spacious and the 200 x 200 bed sleeps amazing. Nice breakfast and friendly and helpful staff. There is a good restaurant inside the hotel, which is convenient if you don’t want to go out and drive. Will definitely come back when we visit La Rioja again.

Great location, easy to walk around and explore Haro. The apartment is very nicely done with modern clean interiors and lots of space. We loved the wine barrel in the room and the complimentary wine in the fridge. The stay and the apartment was just delightful for our visit to Haro and the La Rioja wine region.
this is a hotel we have used many times. it is spacious, had amazing grounds, excellent parking and friendly and efficient staff. The town of Navarrete is just a few hundred yards walk away with all facilities. It is excellently located for visiting La Rioja and for travelling north to the ferry ports.
