It was the perfect place to rest and feel rejuvenated. The pool area is also lovely with clean, crisp cool water overlooking the mountains. The food in the restaurant at the hotel is delicious. The staff who work at the hotel were so kind, personable and a pleasure to see every day. It’s a special place and I can see the care put by the family into the renovation and creation of the hotel. I would definitely return.

This pretty town has a wide variety of places to eat, plenty of interesting little shops and a very good museum on jamon, made out of the black pigs that feed on acorns in the fields around the town. I had lunch in 'Rinconcillo' restaurant and it was superb. The Museo del Jamon is very interesting and the tourist office, situated within the museum has a knowledgeable, English-speaking tourist officer only too willing to help you get the most out of your stay. An excellent area for walking and exploring the countryside. Not too far away is the ancient Monastery of Tentudía situated at the highest point in Badajoz Province, Extremadura. There is a good café-bar up there with a terrace looking out over the most amazing view. I had lunch there and it's called 'El Balcón de Tentudía'. There is a lot to do in the area.
