I didn't know about the 'spa' area until day 2 but if you go, you MUST try the steam sauna. Also perfectly located for a morning hike up the mountain as the starting point is right beside the hotel. Truly adore this place.

A lovely hostel, fabricio is the best! he offered so much help and the almost-outdoor kitchen is so lovely. wonderful sunset views of tungurahua. felt so at home at this place and even was offered an upgrade when there was a mistake with my booking - that's the sort of service offered here. nice away from the hustle and bustle of town.

Loved our stay here, we arrived on the night bus so the 24 hour check in was great you ring a bell to wake them up. It was super quiet at night with no bars noisy nearby was super tranquil. We had a beautiful Mountain View and enjoyed our 5 nights here. breakfast was yummy too and ensured I had gluten free options. Owner is great, very helpful with booking tours and she has a great personality :)

Great staff and perfect location
I had a great stay, I was travelling alone, I got to know lovely women in the clean shared room. Great staff, and a very good welcome drink. The bar and restaurant had wonderful food and drinks, and even a discotheque on the rooftopbar.
For sure it's a place to recommend! We stayed in the room with the river view it's just wow. Normally you walk to see such scenery but we had it just outside the window. We loved breakfast on the balcony/ terrace, and we loved the family that keeps the hostal. Everyone is very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Also cleanness was just super. Hostal located few minutes walking from the bus station which is super convenient

Our stay at Monte Selva was a 10/10 . The staff is very welcoming, helpful, accommodating, kind but most importantly very courteous providing an excellent customer service at the spa area, restaurant, bar and lobby. We really enjoyed our stay that we would recommend anyone that visits Baños to stay there and we are looking forward to visiting Monte Selva in the future. The location was excellent, is walking distance to the center of the city where there’s many bars, restaurants. The food at the Monte Carlo restaurant is not only very good in taste but in prices as well. The filet mignon is a must try. We enjoyed very much the thermal waters and saunas that were indoors and outdoors we had the hot tub and pool. Our room was very very clean and had a big window to enjoy the beautiful view. We had a great time 😊
