Although it may not boast the extensive variety like some other hotels, the selection was more than sufficient for our family. Each dish was delicious and made with fresh ingredients.

The hotel is very beautifully done - modern in every way, but a step back in time to the early twentieth century as well. Shanghai has really a special touch and feeling. If you were in Paris and New York in the same time. Skyscrapers in the other side of the Bund in Pudong, old houses, hutongs, palaces, residential areas, excellent street food, fantastic tea houses. Use the metro, it's cheap and extensive. Or by foot. Unfortunately it is rather difficult or impossible to rent a bike using the new bike -renting system for a foreigner. Shanghai is much more interesting than Beijing, as its history is completely different the city is also different. In a very positive sens. Less green than Beijing , the only problem is to find really green areas which is still possible in Beijing. Try to find local eateries, and don't miss the Bund, the Yu garden, old Shanghai area, French concession district, take the normal Ferry for 3 jüan to get to Pudong, visit the Shanghai tower with its fastest elevator in the world , drink a longjing in one of the tea houses, and visit Watertown close to the town.
VPN was working in contrast to all the five other hotels we visited during this trip in the greater Shanghai area There was always someone available speaking English and providing assistance and help at the concierge and reception

I had a great staying at Shanghai at the Jianguo hotel. the room was very clean, the bed was super comfortable and the staff very helpful and kind.

Super service, great location and stunning unit. The beds were very comfortable, the AC worked perfectly, and the bath was divine! The kitchen has all you need and they even provide laundry detergent. The hotel is walking distance from Nanjing Road and The Bund. The little park across the road is perfect for some "quite time in nature". Thank you for the super service.
I had three time let friends pick up some gift and receive some gifts. The stuff were very nice
The location is unbeatable, five minutes to metro stop (Yuyuan) and ten minutes to Yuyuan/Yu gardens. Most of Shanghai's top spots are easily reached from the hotel, either by metro, or a somewhat longer walk. Staff is helpful, their level of English is great, and the restaurant (where breakfast is also served) is a great way to relax after a full day out. All in all, we were very happy to stay here and will be back if we'll come to Shanghai again.
The location is superb - right on the bund with great views of the Shanghai skyline. The staff are particularly friendly and helpful.
It was a really comfortable stay and with stunning views. My daughter and I love everything about it. I have stayed at many hotels and I would say they have the most comfortable pillows.
