This was by far the best hotel of our road trip to Chile and one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The building is an architectural wonder and built with 300° views of the lake. Fans of Frank Lloyd Wright and other modernist architects will adore. The hosts are super kind and gave advice on day trips. Also a top quality breakfast with amazing cakes.

Illi Lodge & Hostel is situated in Ranco and has a garden and a terrace. There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service. Illi lodge was a great base for exploring around Lago Ranco, including the Futangue reserve. It was easy to get to the reserve and the lakeside beaches from the lodge by car, although they’re close enough that cycling would also be an option. The lodge staff were very friendly and helpful, and were able to provide information and suggestions about local activities, including arranging kayaking on the lake for us. At the time of our visit they were also able to offer evening meals which were nicely prepared using local ingredients. The lodge itself is modern and clean and comfortable with something of a log cabin style in the public areas.
