Located in picturesque scenery at the foot of the Hochkar Mountain, Hotel Fahrnberger offers a restaurant, a spa area, a bathing pond and Ayurveda treatments in Lassing, 5 mi from Göstling's center. We have already visited the region several times but without having an accommodation there. This time we chose a hotel just in the valley, where all interesting places are located around within 10 km. We were attracted by the Hochkar mountain and both the Wasserlochklamm and the Gams bei Hieflau waterfalls. The Fahrnberger hotel is a nice building already from outside and a reasonably big parking is located in front of the building. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, although we do not speak German (they also fluently speak English). We were accommodated in a nice, separate building near the main hotel building. We like the style how the hotel is equipped: it is a local Austrian natural design but providing the maximum comfort. We felt like we were on our honeymoon there. In the evening we enjoyed a great Riesling white wine in the hotel lounge. The four poster bed, located in our big and amazing room, provided a very pleasant environment in the night. The bathroom with a shower was also big and comfortable. The toilet was in a separate room. In the morning we have a nice mountain view from the window of our room. The breakfast was very tasty and we also enjoyed sitting places in front of the hotel to absorb the atmosphere of the Alps mountains. We left the hotel totally satisfied and the price for the accommodation seems to us very adequate. For sure, we plan to return there in the future.

Surrounded by the Göstling Alps, the family-run Alpenhotel Ensmann is located at the foot of the Hochkar Mountain in the southwestern part of Lower Austria. Great location, very friendly staff, food was great! My daughter left her AirPods and they sent them to us! We have stayed here several times and always have a great experience.

We did enjoy our stay at this hotel. It was super for families with kids, there was a great playing area for kids. The staff was excellent, very kind, they tried to fulfil all of our requests. It is a 3 star hotel, but food was great and location for skiing also good.

We loved the place, the view from our balcony was just great - grasslands, forest, mountains as far as eye can see. Nice hosts. Simple, but quite tasty breakfast (payed extra). If you are staying there in the summer, definitely try swimming in the river in Göstling. (Free, a beach next to Ybbstaler Solebad. BWT, the payed place in Hollenstein is also amazing.) Perfect after a hike in the mountains.

Little older hotel, nice located in small village - with excellent staff. and restaurant on site. Great breakfast selection. You can park infront of the hotel for free. In the same village (5min walk distance) is Solebad - spa where you can get great relax. We really liked a lot staying here. Definitely worth to return. We did ski trips to Hochkar.

This was a very nice "Bauernhaus" in a small place near Hochkar ski area. It was about 20 minutes to the top Hochkar Parking area. The apartment was very nice and cozy, clean a it had all we needed. The lady was super friendly. We would stay again.

Nice big apartment, well equipped kitchen, spotlessly clean, beautiful surroundings. You definitely need a car to get to the place. We used it as a basis for skiing on Hochkar, which is a comfortable 30 min. drive.
Everything was perfect! Very nice and pleasant hotel. We were very satisfied. Great pool, sauna. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Nice and helpful staff. A short drive from the Hochkar ski resort. We enjoyed it.

The hotel proprietor was friendly, willing to help anytime. It is creating the homely atmosphere. The hotel has its own small restaurant, the dinner was tasty. Just 15 min drive to Hochkar ski resort.
Bufet breakfast were tasty and it was the main reason, why we chose this hotel together with amazing location: Hochkar mountain accesible with chairlift or by 45minutes hiking.

Charming apartment. Everything is exceptionally thought out to make the stay feel homelike. Plenty of space with 4 bedrooms and very comfortable beds. Kitchen and dining areas are great too. We found the beds to be very comfortable, and the pressure in the shower to be very good as well. The location is also good, close to a variety of trails and walking paths. In fact, you can just leave the house on foot and hike around. Overall – 10/10.
Amazing place, beautiful cottage, peace, in the middle of nature. I can only recommend. Only 12 minutes by car to the nearby ski area. We will definitely be happy to return to this place.
The house was equipped with all facilities even the heater for ski boots. The place is extremely quiet in the forest. You have to go by car 1-2 kilometres away from the village, but if you are looking for a place close to nature, you are in the proper place. Everything was prepared there and I have not experienced yet such a clean house. I cannot find any negatives.
