This was the perfect overnight place for breaking the looooong journey across the Chaco. We were dreading the journey but fortunately it wasn't as hot as expected and the Chaco was far more interesting scenically than we were expecting. It was quite green and lush, and once you start the approach to the Andean foothills it is really pretty.
Resistencia is a busy provincial capitol. It has a nice, small museum on the Chaco. Be sure to visit Corrientes, on the other side of the river.
