Situated along Hardanger Fjord, this waterfront hotel offers views of Folgefonna Glacier, indoor and outdoor pools, along with a private beach area. Wi-Fi access and private parking are both free. The electric car charging can be ordered for an additional fee. This is a very classy hotel located on the Sørfjorden, a narrow branch of the Hardangerfjord, so narrow that you can see across the fjord from your room. Setting is spectacular. Spa facilities were excellent with several pools, sauna, hot tub. We hiked from the hotel up through the apple orchards along a river valley to a waterfall, about 3h walk, not too strenuous with great views. Dining on site is lovely but expensive; there are other options near by.

Hotel Norge by Scandic is located in central Bergen, just next to Byparken city park. Guests will find 3 floors of bars, lounge areas and restaurants. The airport shuttle bus and the city light rail system stop just next to the hotel. Bergen Fish And Flower Market is just a few minutes' walk away. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. The design was stunning. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The design was beautiful and made me feel like I was at a five star hotel. The breakfast was by far the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. I was honestly blown away by the options, and of course it all tasted wonderful. Beautiful and comfortable.

Offering an outdoor pool, sauna and views of the mountain, Voss Mountain Lodge is situated in Mjølfell. The property is located along the Bergen-Oslo Railway, with trains leaving every morning and afternoon for the world-famous Flåmsbanen. The hotel has a barbecue and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar. A hot sauna and an unheated pool are available. We had a wonderful time at the lodge, which is set in beautiful nature with many hiking trails around. Somewhat remote and not as frequented by tourists it was still easily accessible by train thanks to a nearby train station. We arrived by train from Bergen and after a short hike down a bit of a bumpy but beautiful path through the woods, arrived safely and were warmly welcomed by the hostess. We were served yummy breakfast and enjoyed the home cooked dinners in the evenings after active days. We definitely recommend this hidden gem and are planning to go back there again.
