We liked the Hotel Rio for it's location close to the Belize border, as we were crossing into Belize the next morning. The border is only a coiuple of minutes drive away. Secure parking, a small swimming pool, nice yard and quiet location. The bed was comfortable, shower was good, and the hotel was easy to find.

The location was beautiful, and hard to beat swimming in the water and pool. They also had kayaks which were lovely for going out onto the quiet lake. Super comfy mattresses too, and if you are travelling on less of a budget there are some very deluxe rooms available.
It is a very beautiful and extremely clean place with a nice kitchen where you receive uncomparable hospitality.
You can stay in your own or mingle with other guests as the garden is extremely big,I never expected to find a place like this in this area.i came without a car and it was still supereasy and fast to go to Chetumal or Bacalar by public transport. The lake is 800 km away and if you are to lazy to walk over there you just spend the day at the clean pool.
Amazing secluded hostel in the middle of the forest. I loved the clean pool, excellent and every day different breakfast, friendly and welcoming staff and the quietness of the the place. I would recommend anyone in the area to at least spend one night here as it felt like quite a unique and very well maintained place.
The owners are very friendly, they even treated me with food. Very cheap price with breakfast included. Nice pool and outdoor area. Was alone in the dormitory. Internet actually is available even though on booking it says no. I would come back.
Gorgeous location right on the lake - which you can swim in, play on, or just enjoy the amazing views, especially if sunrise & sunset. Very relaxing. The owner & her son are charming and very helpful. We ate breakfast & dinner there each night and the food and ambience was outstanding. We all want to go back! Thank you.
