Kavita the receptionist was simply the best of her kind: welcoming, friendly, informative, inquisitive with a heartwarming life story too. The place itself was charming. Large, clean and comfortable room. Breakfast in nearby Chettinadu Mansion was ample and good, as was dinner there too. Kanadukathan is a fabulous and unique place in India with its magnificent Chettinadu mansions. An oasis of calm from normal hectic India.

Built in 1902, the beautiful Chettinadu Mansion in Kāraikkudi boasts stunning architecture, Italian marble flooring and wooden furnishings. About 10 km from Thirumayam and 1.5 m from Chettinad, it has an outdoor pool and free internet.

This was the most beautiful hotel & we were so well looked after, all the staff were fantastic & the dinner & breakfast were wonderful, such delicious chettinad food that is the speciality of the house. The old world atmosphere was enchanting & we wished we had stayed longer.
