The outdoor pool area was great and the children loved it. I enjoyed the cool temperature of the Health Club pool and also the view of the beach from there. Location was excellent for beach days, literally across the road. Breakfast buffet was really good, diverse range of dishes. I also ordered from the room service menu and the food was tasty and delivered promptly. The design of the hotel was elegant and made for a pleasant experience.

The Health Club features a swimming pool with a water slide, sauna, steam room, massage equipment and a tennis court. The Eastern Garden features an annular trail, which is a nice place for a stroll. Guests can also play table tennis and basketball in the garden, or pay a visit to Herb Garden to see black goats raised by the property.

Shangri-La Behai offers a reminder of big hotel golden days. There was live entertainment in the spacious lobby with views of the swimming pool. Room service also offered a convenient menu that was reasonably priced for this type of hotel. The gym and sauna were well-maintained and clean. Our room was comfortable and offered a fantastic view of the choppy Gulf of Tonkin. Breakfast was filling. There was plenty to eat including fresh fruit, noodles, pastries, and typical Chinese breakfast items. Some guests might be disappointed that Western options are scarce. Seating was also especially scarce during our time there. Other plusses include Shangri-La's location along the water. It is an easy walk to the old town port streets and the more modern beach areas.
