The hosts were were extremely kind and very welcoming and they even picked us up in town with their own car in the late evening when we did not manage to find the accommodation due to our very bad offline navigation system which we had in our car.... Very cozy, very neat neat and very nice self catering room , great shower and huge showerhead! A large Smart TV with a lot apps !!! Biscuits and coffee and tea were provided in the room free of charge. The self catering equipment was very neat and sufficent.

There is a children's playground and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. The small, simple room was very clean (and so were the shared toilets/showers). The hotel has made an effort to make the place homey with a bit of decor inside the room and plants/decor throughout the property.. The wind and cold were fierce during our stay, so we were very grateful to have a good heater in our room (and they provide enough blankets). While the WIFI is only available in the reception/bar/restaurant area, it works well. Good to have a reasonably priced restaurant on site, as there are few eating options in Grunau (you can order your meals ahead to be ready at a certain time). We stayed for two nights while visiting Fish River Canyon as it is much more affordable than the places in/nearer the park (unless you are camping).
