The family who runs Maple Place are so kind and thoughtful, lots of attention to detail. They allowed us to leave our bags early and even provided a cold drink while we waited for the room to be ready. The room was clean, exactly as pictured, always had hot water, and ac/fan worked excellently. Location on the main road was a short walk or tuk tuk ride to the beach or town. The breakfast was so delicious and had variety for our 3 night stay. Highly recommend we would definitely stay here again!

Outdoor seating is also available at the guest house. Susanna and Tusharo (please excuse me if I’m misspelling the names :) were wonderful hosts. Welcoming and informative. It really felt like our own house. Spotless clean, equipped with everything a traveler needs, beautiful nature around, a garden well kept. Another great thing is the hosts really care about animals and Tusharo shared fascinating information about the connection local people share with the sea turtles (we got lucky and swam with them). The beach has some great surf. Would love to come back and stay more.

There was sitting space and a huge balcony overlooking the river. The hotel also offers a free boat across the river to the superb beach. The family who own the hotel and their staff were so friendly and welcoming and made us really at home. We walked every day and found the location great and within easy reach of local restaurants.

My boyfriend and I stayed there during our time in Unawatuna. The room was very comfortable and clean. On the terrace you can enjoy a beautiful sunset. The owner was very kind and helpful with all of our concerns. Thank you, it was a wonderful time!

Very close to a quiet beautiful beach, nice small family property, with a wonderful little garden. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with aircon and fan, good shower, and small kitchenette, fridge and freezer. I have never in my life had such a great and personable host, Susee took great care of me from the moment I arrived up until I left and provided anything and beyond I could ask for. Food was homemade and exceptional quality, and on the sri Lankan new year I was invited into the family home for a feast of food!
