This 4-star holiday home offers private entrance. Absolutely everything! The room is clean, comfy, has all appliance you'd need (stoves, cutlery, plates, toaster, kettle, etc.). We specially enjoyed the projector for movie nights ! a lovely note was also the picnic blanket that we used at the beach. To note we don't have a car, but you can walk quite easily to the beach and taxis can come and collect you.

The Garden Room is also equipped with a fridge, microwave, toaster, crockery & cutlery. Our Garden Room is dog friendly. I was looking for dog-friendly overnight accommodation prior to taking a ferry from Rosslare and honestly couldn’t have chosen a nicer place within an easy 25 minute drive from the port. Human host Pauline and doggy host Penny couldn’t have been more welcoming. Whilst Penny was showing my dog around her garden and adjacent dog walk, Pauline revived my flagging spirits with complimentary tea and her own delicious carrot cake in her sunny haven of a patio upon arrival. Guest rooms and common areas are most beautifully decorated and furnished with gorgeous antique gems; entirely relaxing and never overwhelming. Clearly, a lot of love has gone into creating our large, dog-friendly Garden Room which was a real home away from home. There was fabulous bed linen, superior tea and coffee making facilities (incl. ground coffee for a cafetière and Pukka herbal teas) and lots of personal attention to detail. Sustainability is important to Brookville’s hosts as evidenced by mineral water in glass, not plastic bottles, triple glazing and solar heated water. My large en-suite shower room had lots of complimentary toiletries and, again, much thought has gone into this: there were great towels, a make-up mirror, even cotton buds and pads, and much more. Both rooms were spotless and, at the end of a very warm day, neither too warm not too cold. Breakfast at Brookvale is optional but highly recommended because the hot and cold menus are extensive. Portions are generous and the food is yummy. My only regret was, that I couldn’t do justice to Pauline’s offerings, despite my best efforts. Emphasis is placed on local produce wherever possible and the tableware is beautiful. In summary, we had a lovely albeit short stay, in lovely surrounds, cared for by the perfect hosts. If I could rate Brookvale higher than 10, I would.

Stayed here just last night. And we absolutely loved it. It is a perfect combination of home away from home, yet the luxury of a hotel stay. The beds were so comfortable. Everyone slept well. The home is spacious yet cosy. We had three children with us, aged 7, 10 and 11, and they had full use of bikes, PlayStation, and board games galore. And then, to top it off, the hot tub was ready and waiting, bliss. What luxury! Constant hot water, stove to light ,full kitchen. Left with nothing to ask for. The host gave us plenty of info pre arrival and was a text away for any other queries. It was all very smooth from start to finish. Amazingly, we were able to charge our car for no extra cost from 11pm at night. All set and ready for the next day without having to go search or stop off on route. Huge bonus.

Self catering so breakfast was up to us although Anne provided basics had we needed them including tea, coffee, sugar, real milk in fridge, cereal... Lots of cooking kit and useful items like pepper. Everything was to had and either pretty new or in really good condition. There was even a butter dish for our butter. Peaceful rural setting, comfortable sofas (one each), really good bed. We got out and about using the car to get to nearby locations then going for walks along beaches, rivers, around castles, ruined ancient churches dodging rain showers.
