Tim and Katrina are incredibly welcoming, they truly made me feel at home. As a lover of old houses with character, this was perfect for me. There are drinks making facilities in the room, including a little mini fridge for milk which was provided. I stayed in the twin room and the beds were comfortable meaning I got a good night sleep, especially as I needed it. I booked breakfast with them whilst there and it was wonderful. They have a kitchen you can use if needed to make sandwiches and pop a few bits in the fridge. The location in the Peaks District is perfect (surely the centre of the universe) set in a beautiful village with a pub across the road that is also welcoming and does great food. I would highly recommend staying and I will definitely book again if in the area. The owners have a wealth of knowledge on walks in the area and were truly supportive as I was staying during a Hill and Moorland Leader assessment.

It was the perfect mix of heritage/character and contemporary as it was recently entirely redone. For me, it was exactly what I wanted for my solo trip to the Peak District - really cozy and quaint, but new and fresh and clean. My room (#3) was darling - corner unit with 2 windows and great views, warm, and very charming country aesthetic. The minimal traffic and pub noise didn't bug bother me at all, the bed was comfortable, and plenty of complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the room. The continental breakfast was just right (Canadians, note that it is cold items only). The staff was friendly and lent me a very handy umbrella for my few days. I had one meal in the pub which I enjoyed, which was also cute with the fireplaces.

The decor was very cosy, and the location was quiet. It was nice that the tv had BBC iPlayer and Netflix, so we were able to relax and watch Paris olympics in evenings after all-day hikes. We hope to come back again.

THE CONVENIENCE OF THE WASHING MACHINE REALLY HELPED EASE OUR HOLIDAY. THE TOP FLOOR WAS LIGHT AND AIRY; THE PEACEFUL ATMOSPHERE WAS A REAL TREAT AFTER A LONG DAY HIKING AND TOURING AROUND. ONE OF THE BEST RENTAL HOLIDAY APARTMENTS WE HAVE EVER STAYED AT.

A recently renovated holiday home located in Chesterfield, Garden Cottage - Ashover Village near Matlock features a garden. This property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is situated 17 km from Chatsworth House. What a beautiful cottage. Well designed and equipped, beautifully decorated, with a tiny but very nice garden, and dog friendly. Above all, we have felt very welcome here. Ashover is a very nice village and close to the Peak District. Would we like to stay at this place again? Absolutely!!
