I am a repeat visitor. As always, the room was great and the proximity to Northwestern Bienen School of Music even better. It's quieter than where I live, and the neighborhood is good and proximate. Also, restaurant downstairs is very credible. I had a good meal the evening my NU student was busy with concertizing.

The location is perfect; this was my first time ever visiting Evanston, and part of the reason I loved the city so much was being able to get out and explore on foot from the GEM Museum Suites - so close to so many things of interest, including shops, restaurants, the lake! and neighborhoods full of great architecture and character. And that was after my initial surprise at walking into the hotel lobby to be met with original Tiffany windows and other incredible pieces from the museum across the street. The restaurant - in the museum - was another wonderful bonus: great food, exceptional service, set in a room full of Tiffany windows, mosaics, jewelry, and vases, and an invite for hotel guests to tour the museum floors. All of my senses were piqued by the experience of both hotel and restaurant. The hotel rooms are well appointed with very comfortable beds, washer/dryer combo, frig, dishwasher, cooking facilities - and, best of all, a lovely concierge (Becca) who went out of her way to make my party feel welcome and informed about everything to do in the neighborhood and environs, and always had a warm smile and greeting for us.
