The motel is situated close to Turangi and it is a short drive to the local shops including petrol/supermarket/great bakery. We found our room a little dated but that gave it a kind of charm. It was a comfortable break after a long tiring drive. Great for a short stay. I could imagine that if your were a fisherman that this motel would be well placed for your needs. Friendly helpful host. One real plus was that of all the motels that I have stayed in over many years, this is the only one that I can recall as providing a carport which makes a difference on a cold wet day.

At first, the owner. Tony is very friendly and kindly. He welcomed in front of his lodge when we arrived at lodge. Lodge is keep beautiful and useful. From the lodge, we can go to the beautiful lake park and we can see the beautiful sunset. We can take some food including steak and vegetables and cook a dinner by using Tony’s kitchen and various dishes and cutlery. Furthermore, breakfast with scrambled eggs cooked by Tony is fine.

Fabulous location that is super dog friendly which we really appreciate when travelling. The surroundings made us feel at peace & connected to nature. A perfect half way point to Wellington from Auckland
Owner really lovely & accommodating. Love that it's dog friendly. The rooms with the mezzanine floors are neat. Location is good. It's also completely fenced off so no worried with the toddler running around.
This accommodation is in a great location, easy to access and a park nearby to exercise your dog. They are also dog friendly for a small fee. Great as a solo traveler that there is also a restaurant available onsite that serves good wholesome food.
Our room contained everything we needed to have a comfortable stay, it was clean and tidy. Nice and accessible to the river/trails and the township. Plus an absolute bonus being pet friendly so we could bring along our dog.
The room was very comfortable and warm. Lovely to sit on deck and watch sunset. Great to have a pet friendly room with walking space beside the river out the front for my dog.
Tokaanu lodge is best by far, comfortable, friendly, easy to find. Great location. Owners are awesome, best part about lodge is the owners and being pet friendly, going on holiday with our pet dog is the best.
