For visiting Vardø / Vardøya (and, in particular, the Vardøhus Festning - the world's most northerly fortress), the hotel's location is unparalleled. The food was excellent as regards both taste and preparation, and the manager's helpful recommendation of a local cider to accompany "the best cod in the world" and helpful explanation of what "brown cheese ice cream" (tastes much better than it sounds in English) is were much appreciated. But the highlight of our stay was said manager telling me on our second day (after I had explained that I had been dreaming of visiting Vardøhus Festning for a decade) that he - the manager - had arranged with the fortress' commandant (a serving Norwegian Army officer) for my wife & I to have a private guided tour with said commandant of the closed parts of the fortress. .

Vardø itself is an amazing place to be and deserves a couple of days for explorations.
Big and newly renovated modern apartment in a nice and convenient location. Easily walkable to shops and restaurants. Lots of space and kitchen is well equipped.

The location is perfect. The check in was very easy and flexible, we spontaneously booked a room and got in right away. Communications with the owner was very pleasant and easy. Very cheap comparing to other locations. Dog could join us without an extra fee.
