Nice clean hotel run by an old Frenchman, who made a 5-bungallows hotel around his house. Well arranged, on the beach. Hot water, rooms of very OK size.

The food was maybe the best I've had in 10 months in Madagascar, and the location is literally on the beach. The accommodation was comfortable and modern and the service was friendly and efficient. La Bella Donna feels more Western than other Malagasy hotels and because of that lacked a little character. But that should not detract from what is a fantastic a place to stay. It's also very easy to organise activities, such as snorkelling, from the hotel.
The staff here is excellent. They always did their job with a smile. The man who manages the pool also put in a lot of effort to help fix a plumbing problem with my room. The ladies at the restaurant were very kind and patient with my bumbling French. The receptionists/management never forgot a request. There were some sweet stray dogs at the hotel that they humored me with feeding.
The beach views are beautiful, especially the sunsets.
