The hotel was exceptionally easy to access via train as the local train station is directly below. The rooms were large, comfortable, clean and modern. There are several boutique shops surrounding the hotel that were convenient for late night or last minute shopping.
Open from 2016, Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto features a Western-style restaurant and a tea house by a pond in Shakusuien Japanese garden as well as a lounge. Kyoto Station is a 7-minute drive away.

It was a very pleasant trip in Kyoto especially because we chose this hotel. They care about all the details and provide almost whatever we need. The location is great; the apartment is cozy and super clean; the lady who helped us checked in was so kind and warm, and always respond us immediately when we need help. The location is great, but I forgot to check on my email. Therefore, I didn't know the PIN number has been sent to my email. It took me awhile to find the building and then got into the unit.
I like that the place provides a big open space and a long table. It is very helpful to have two toilet rooms and two baths. The place also is equipped with a washing machine and a dryer, so we saved a lot of time on doing laundry.

It is a nice hotel, rooms are good size, location peaceful with a beautiful view to Lake Biwa, especially view from Breakfast area is special. They operate each half hour a free shuttle bus to Otsu main Station. If you take taxi Zeze station is closer.
The breakfast table was nice because it was set apart from the neighboring tables and located in a spacious hall. Considering the price, the kaiseki meal was excellent and the menu was not unfamiliar to foreigners. The complimentary snacks provided were also a nice touch.
The location was amazing! The Inn is located within a temple on the side of a beautiful mountain, with a magical little walking track. The room was also huge for the price I paid!
Amazing location on the lake, great views from every room. There's a great German restaurant called Wurzburg. It's actually the reason I go there to stay even though I live within train distance of the hotel.
Location excellent view of lake, hot springs in room so clean. The breakfast buffet, grilling fish was so tasty and yummy. Dinner with its multiple courses was like eating in a fancy restaurant. Premium food with great freshly ground coffee.
A beautiful, historical building set in the old part of Ōtsu, I spent here a night before heading to Kyōto. The staff is friendly and competent, breakfast was abundant and tasty.
