Host was really nice and helpful in explaining rules and how to use the property, such as how we can heat the baths and what we can or cannot use in the property. Host is Japanese speaking only but it was not a problem for us. The property was really clean with big spaces to relax, and our group of 7 enjoyed our stay very much. Good location and friendly staff. Clean facilities and I enjoyed the traditional Japanese style room. I rented an e-bike at the Echigo-Yazawa station, so getting from the station to the hotel was easy. I had booked the option with breakfast and dinner, but was leaving the next morning at 5 am. The host made me a breakfast the night before and left it in a cooler for me to eat in the morning. I really appreciated this effort and the solid breakfast was highly appreciated as I spent most of the day hiking. Highly recommended!

This booking was so much more than we expected! As a family of 6, it was wonderful to have so many amenities available. The views all around are stunning- we stopped at Kiyotsu gorge, sightsaw the Uonuma Skyline, took in the mountain reflections in the rice terraces, and stopped at 3 foot baths in the area. They even allowed our dog to stay too! Highly recommend booking Urasa Cottage. Thank you for the hospitality and wonderful stay!
Li was a very friendly host. She took time to welcome us and explain everything about the property. The place was extremely comfortable (all new) and made us feel at home immediately. We recommend staying and would enjoy to come back.
The location is great to take a walk by the river and go skiing in winter.

Futon on tatami is at acceptable thickness, so we consider it comfortable. Toilets available every floor, 2 public bathrooms and hot bath located at ground floor, sometimes might need to queue if happen to be full booking that day. Breakfast and dinner available upon request. 5 minutes walk to ski lift, Satoshi-San pick up and fetch us to train station. Will be back on next ski season probably.

- Hot Spring are the best ( guys (male) think the temperature is a bit too high, really suitable from my perspective).
- Great free shuttle bus to nearby ski resort and the station.
- Really friendly staffs and easy to communicate through English (in whatsapp)
