Absolutely lovely inn. Beautiful gardens, rooms and common areas. Very clean and cozy! Beds were super comfortable and they even provided a fan for these hot spring days. All the staff was very nice and attentive. Food was excellent too!

The Red Lion, a property with a garden, is situated in Lacock, 200 metres from Lacock Abbey, 22 km from Royal Crescent, as well as 22 km from The Circus Bath. This 4-star bed and breakfast offers a housekeeping service. Guests can grab a bite to eat in the restaurant or a drink at the bar and free WiFi is available throughout the property.

We loved everything about the Red Lion. The only thing we regretted was we could only stay 1 night otherwise it could have been a good base for visiting the surrounding places. Very well located close to Lacock Abbey and lots of parking spaces at the back and in front of the Inn. We booked 2 out of the total 5 rooms they had which seemed full on that weekend. The rooms were beautiful and cosy although a bit small. One of the rooms had a view facing the front of the hotel where we could see the surrounding area with historic buildings and also people walking by. The bathroom was nice with heated wooden floor and good quality amenities. The electric kettle in the room was also handy and it came with ample supplies of coffee, tea, plus hot chocolate and cookies. When we were about to come down for dinner at the pub, the whole town's electricity was cut off due to a birds' strike crashing down one of the poles. The pub then had to be closed for public. However staying guests were offered platters of sandwiches, quiches and also their home brewed ales - for free. It was indeed a great customer caring gesture, and the electricity was on not long after we finished the dinner. The included breakfast was beyond our expectation as we could choose anything from their great menu selections including hot breakfast and healthier items, not only "continental breakfast" as described in booking.com. After checking out, we left our car at their parking lot, borrowed their umbrella (was raining hard) and walked to the Lacock Abbey nearby. When we came back, the staff brought the laptop that apparently was left in the room by my son. The overall service was very good, everybody was friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back when planning a visit to Lacock and nearby areas provided the pricing is kept reasonable.

What a fabulous place! We stayed in one of the annexe room with our two dogs which was perfect. Ideal location for where we were heading the next day. Can’t comment on the evening meal as we didn’t eat in the pub but if breakfast was anything to go by it’s a shame we missed out. Will be looking to book again for next year’s trip.

Absolutely loved the Pear Tree Inn’s building and garden. We were there on a very hot night and the view to the garden from our dining table was like a Monet painting, very bucolic and pastoral. One felt transported to another life! Very dog friendly too which was a real plus.
