The atmosphere was idyllic, it was quiet and peaceful. We had our medium sized dog with us for 2 nights and all the staff just loved him so we didn't feel bad for having him. A great centralised location for getting to all the walks. The food and staff were just lovely. Already looking to book for our next stay. My husband also called ahead, as it was a special occasion for us, and asked for flowers and champagne to be put into the room which Paddy did!! Honestly, just lovely.

Dinner was very good (cloth napkins) but breakfasts were excellent and as good as any you will get, anywhere. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern (new) and clean. Lovely dated interiors with lots of historic photographs - very nicely done. Lovely fresh water, on tap! Very pleasant welcoming staff - couldn't be faulted. Creaky floors go with the age of the building - lovely! The location is idyllic with easy access to the moors and its walks, pubs and villages.

This location is right in the center of the moor so perfect for nature lovers. Excellent and very friendly host with cute dog and freshly made breakfast. Very helpful with recommendations for both where to go and where to eat. Room was nice and very big room and bathroom. Would definitely recommend for everyone except those with pet allergies since property has multiple animals.

Breakfast was so tasty and the sausages were the best I’ve ever tasted! The location was stunning and so quiet, we had a great sleep. The bed was super comfy and very welcoming after a day of walking on the moors! It’s super dog friendly, so we were very comfortable taking our dog with us to stay.

Breakfast was excellent. Dinner was nice but rather expensive and could have more choice on the ale carte menu. Afternoon cream teas very good. The location was excellent being in the heart of the moors. Also, that it was a dog friendly hotel with doggie treats on arrival, was a plus too.
