the building is both unusual and lovely. Its in a walled garden and very private, with a deer park outside the wall, its a location you just don't find very often. the decoration inside is well done, and the place feels welcoming and luxurious.

the whole property was exceptional, tremendous church conversion with great stained glass windows and some of the existing church internals, Very well decorated. great location close to 3 parks for dog walking and close to the beach.

Stunning location, apartment was super clean and beds very comfortable. Tastefully decorated in keeping with the surroundings. Fantastic walks on the estate and everywhere very dog friendly. staff very friendly, house tour included in the stay and highly recommended. All that you would expect from a National Trust property
A week, self-catered, so breakfast was up to my usual standard! There is nothing to "not like" They have thought of everything. Welcome box of goodies for us and the dog, first aid kit, sewing kit, dog bed, lead, poo bags, sun hat, picnic blanket, toiletries, even toothbrushes! Honestly could not fault it.
Nice easy 5 min walk to the beach, some good local eateries to go out too (some do delivery), and a great base to explore this part of Scotland from.

Location was brilliant, just a short walk to the beautiful beach and a short walk to the amenities of the town. Lots of great places for dog walks with a big dog friendly field at the bottom of the street. The property was clean, tidy and very welcoming. We were left lots of little treats including tea/coffee, biscuits, crisps etc which was a lovely touch. Everything you could need is there (and more). So much attention to detail too in the decor. Can’t wait to book again!

The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent so yes I would recommend The George hotel to anyone looking to visit Montrose , we certainly will stay there again.

A rare gem. I needed accommodation that was not only dog friendly but also accessible for someone with mobility issues and Ivy Cottage was able to deliver. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, furnished well, with everything you needed in the kitchen. The residential area meant it was quiet and offered plenty opportunities for dog walking. Having an enclosed private garden was a bonus and as we had good weather we enjoyed sitting out in it. Small retail park nearby to pick up essentials and only a short drive to Montrose beach.

Very nice little flat lovely decor and lovely outside area. Great location near a park and walking distance to the beach. Dog friendly as well and great facilities for dogs such as a stake lead thing in the garden a dog bed and dog bowls. Lots of nice little extras such as blankets beside the bed, kids colouring stuff (no kids but it's a good idea).
