Beechfield House is a 4 AA Red Star country house hotel located near Bath, Longleat, Lacock and Stonehenge, housed in a striking late-Victorian country house set within 8 acres of beautiful grounds. It also offers an outdoor swimming pool, traditional walled garden, small arboretum and beautiful lawn with ponds.

I liked this hotel, a couple of miles out of Melksham. In a grand stone manor building, it is well presented with beautiful public spaces, a restaurant, and some lovely rooms. The lovely outdoor swimming pool was heated to a warm temperature which was nice. It has nice grounds to wander around in, and it was quiet at nighttime, with just the birds to wake you up. Our room on the ground floor was a quiet, cosy twin, we had enough space just to pull the twin beds apart to make some space between the beds. Great, strong shower over the bath. A fridge and tea making facilities. We ate dinner one night in the restaurant, it was very nice food. Breakfast is served in there every day. The staff were lovely and super helpful.

The place is so pretty, the staff so friendly, spotlessly clean and staff working hard to keep it that way. the food was also excellent. We stayed in the Anjou room and can recommend it.

The Skilling is a beautiful converted stable on a lovely working, family farm. The accommodation is luxurious and the gardens beautifully cared for. Sun loungers, outside dining and barbecue facilities made this stunning home and location even more enjoyable. Lots of lovely thoughtful touches, coffee machine, candles, slippers and local produce! 10 out of 10 for this pet friendly property.
