Close to start for Scafell Pike hike. Very good pub for dinner; worth booking for the evening. Rooms in annex to the pub so no issue with noise. Good size car park and drying room - very useful considering amount of rain in Lake district.

Pet friendly hotel, made us feel very welcome with our labrador when we checked in last minute due to bad weather conditions (had planned to be camping). The staff were friendly and the breakfast was amazing - amazing quality and value for money. Lovely location.

Fabulous room, the hotel has recently been very tastefully refurbished, so everything is new from carpets to wallpaper and fittings. Totally dog friendly. Lovely food with amazing breakfast. Room looked across river to mountains. Fantastic. Great location near Wasdale Head, ten minute or so drive.
