The owner kept in contact and followed up after our stay. Although positioned above the butcher's shop and on the junction of two roads it is quiet at night. Hathersage is a great base for exploring the Peak District with excellent walks from the village and has a train service to Sheffield and Manchester. Recommended.

This property was perfect for us. Everything you could need had been thought of here, even cosy blankets and a bed for the dog! Arriving to home made cake was something else.. The property has beautiful views to the front and you can see bamford edge (on a clear day) from the kitchen. For walking the location was fabulous and with a bus stop outside you could get further afield on public transport if you needed. There is a washing machine in the property which was a real bonus for us after some muddy walks, and the pub is also just a short walk away.

We had the most amazing stay in Debbie and John’s cottage. It was beautifully appointed, situated on a working farm on the doorstep of some fantastic walking trails, including one along the river to the village of Bamford. The property was comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well stocked to enable us to settle straight away. It was finished to a very high standard, and sympathetically restored. We loved our stay and would highly recommend. Hope to be back!
