Our philosophy is to create a hotel which fulfils our idea of the perfect place to go and stay. This perfect place, whether restaurant or hotel, should be entirely in sympathy with its surroundings.

We want it to be of that place as well as in it. Plentiful use of local aged timber and stone, along with muted tones ensures harmonious blending into this magnificent setting. A commitment to local and Scottish produce, when in season, is imaginatively and sympathetically prepared.

Set in Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, Rob Roy Hotel features excellent food and friendly staff, in Aberfoyle. There is free Wi-Fi and free private parking.

Rob Roy Hotel offers en suite bedrooms with TVs and tea/coffee facilities. A full Scottish breakfast is provided.

The bed (bed linen / pillowcases): exceptionally fresh and clean - spotlessly so. As was the room (including the bathroom) generally - the room was really nice. The hotel has a nice, pleasant atmosphere in a lovely and peaceful part of Scotland - start from Aberfoyle to get to either end of Loch Katrine, including starting at one end of 'Duke's Pass' at Aberfoyle to get to the Trossachs Pier end of the loch (the 7-mile 'Three Lochs Forest Drive' is between these two points and is well worth a detour, as are 'The Lodge' & the Go Ape adventure activities hub (the last two are about a mile up the Duke's Pass hill from Aberfoyle's main road)). There's the NCR 7 for cyclists. The hotel is also a few miles from the Lake of Menteith, which is very serene and a favourite place of mine. The staff were really nice, friendly and helpful.

A beautifully decorated accommodation, exceptionally comfortable beds, friendly hosts, and a peaceful location, this is a self catering cottage at its finest. We loved listening to the owls at night, going on gorgeous hikes every day, and spending time together as a family. We brought our 8 month old and our dog and the accommodation was well set up for both children and pets with a high chair, baby gates, a dog bed, and dog bowls.

Gorgeous location, the grounds are very well kept and gardens immaculate. The breakfast had a good selection and the cooked breakfast was delicious. The rooms were spacious and the double bed was very comfortable. Liked how dog friendly the hotel was. The staff were incredibly friendly and hard working. The swimming pool was nice and there was a snooker table which was free to use which we enjoyed playing. The was a small putting green and garden chess/draughts which we enjoyed playing.
