La Brigue
Located in La Brigue, Auberge Saint Martin is the ideal location for hiking in the Casterino Valleys. It offers a terrace, bar and restaurant and is only 500 metres from the train station.

This is a lovely hotel in a village of 200 people in the Alps. The owner, Robert, was very kind and drove me to and from the train station to the hotel as I didn't realize there were no taxis. The restaurant's food was excellent, and I would have loved to have stayed for breakfast but I had to catch an early train. I would like to come up from Nice and stay again in the summer in order to do some hiking.

The breakfast was an adequate European breakfast, though a bit meager for those who are hiking. Very quiet and clean. Bed very comfortable. Beautiful location, just an easy 8 minute walk from the train station. Excellent base for hiking.

Francesco's hospitality is unmatched. The Italian dinner he prepared for us was as authentic as it can get. The rooms that were given had a lot of interesting ancestral decor.

Very clean and well equiped studio. Gerard was helpful and answered all our questions. The town is quiet and a good base to explore the towns in the mountain.

The lovely host couple made us feel extremely welcome. . We loved the flat and had a great time. We used the collection of brochures about the area to plan treks and want to come back for more treks in the fab mountains. The hosts helped with any queries we had. Enjoyed the local boulangerie, epicerie and bar too!
