The hotel is centrally situated on the Plaza Grande with several bars and restaurants almost at the door and most of the main sights of Zafra within easy walking distance. Our room was at the back overlooking a pedestrianised cul-de-sac and the window gave views across the roofs to the distant hills. There was a decent choice of food at breakfast. Mauricio tried hard to solve our problem with the wi-fi in room 208 but to no avail. While there seemed to be a decent signal, none of our four pieces of Apple equipment could connect so we had to use our iPhones as mobile hotspots.
Set just outside the Extremaduran town of Zafra, Hotel Las Atalayas offers an outdoor pool and tennis court. Rooms and bungalows include a balcony, flat-screen TV, fridge and free Wi-Fi.
Apartamentos San José is situated in Zafra, 34 km from Santuario de la Piedad, 36 km from Convento de San Antonio, and 36 km from Palacio de Monsalud.

The charming apartment was a good size and well equipped. It was in an excellent location too - just a short walk from the main square. The check-in process worked well.

We arrived not expecting much as it was such a reasonable price. We were very pleasantly surprised, we had a lovely room and it was spotless clean and very comfortable. The pictures on booking.com did not do the room justice.
It was a disappointment that we arrived after the lunchtime session as the restaurant was very busy so it must be good and again it doesn't open until 9pm and after a very long drive it was too late for us to wait to eat.
We did have breakfast there in the morning and the bar person was lovely and Helpful . Lovely coffee.
The town the hotel was in had a good variety of small bars and eating establishments as well as a couple of small supermarkets. Unfortunately we could see the castle that dominates the town but could not find a way up to it. If we had more time I'm sure we would have found it. Good stay if you're in that area

The square is quite beautiful at night. The entrance to the hotel was pretty. The man at the front desk was very nice. I liked it was pet friendly. The breakfast was good.
Allowed family pet dog to stay without any problem. Cool comfortable room overlooking plaza in center of historic town . Parking (public/street)nearby easy/meter overnight free. Nice breakfast.
Loved the location - was great; literally five minutes to the main square. …And Zafra is great!
Some of the staff were really friendly.
The unwelcoming messages we received ahead of our stay (about bringing our dog) proved to be pointless - we didn’t have to pay a deposit.
in a lovely square with restaurants and shops nearby. friendly staff. good breakfast. room overlooking the square. dog friendly. parking in the square. clean and comfortable room.
nice welcome at reception, we had a room overlooking the plaza, it is dog friendly, dog was allowed into the breakfast area, excellent value for money. breakfast was good enough.
it’s s great location on the plaza and well worth a stay.
the room was a reasonable size (massive bathroom) with a nice little balcony, the location was good, the courtyard was beautiful, the pool looked nice (but we didn’t use it), parking was well organised, we got to climb up into the parapet of the castle
