The property is located in a village away from the city and is run by a self-help group. The proceeds are shared with the villagers and thus support the local livelihoods. We stayed for one night and enjoyed it - it was like staying with a Bhutanese family in a typically local home (reaching the room on first floor required climbing a wooden staircase), had local cuisine (including some vegetarian dishes) and enjoyed the history behind the house as narrated by Mr Wangchuk, the manager. The staff was very helpful.
The room was very comfortable, quiet, and spacious, and generally well-appointed. The location was nice up in the hills. The food at dinner and breakfast was good, too.
This was not just a place to stay, it was a true experience! The manager and all of the women working here are SO nice and helpful. They went above and beyond to make our time there special. The food was incredible and I loved the location.
Location of the house is very nice although access road is a bit steep and needs experienced driver. House members are very caring and food was also delicious and authentic.
