The views from the wall to wall windows of the vineyard at sunrise and sunset are truly special. The breakfast was simple, but all delicious and fresh. The wine was also very good! I could have sat at the infinity pool overlooking the Douro for weeks.

Overlooking the scenic Douro River Valley, Quinta da Casa Cimeira, Guest House, Wines & Food is set in a historic country house and surrounded by a garden and vineyards. It features an outdoor pool and an on-site restaurant. The location in a mountain village with views over Douro valley is amazing. We arrived by train to Pinhão station and took a taxi to the hotel. It’s 15 minutes drive with awesome views and it costs around 12€. You should definitely take the dinner prepared by the owner himself, it worths a gourmet restaurant’s menu with wine pairing. Even if it is not said, actually it includes the experience of tasting different kinds of wine from their own vineyard. As we informed Senhor Miguel earlier, the dinner menu was adapted to my parents’ alimentary restrictions. The hotel itself is in a renovated mansion like historical building, so full of charm. We will definitely come back and we will definitely order their great red wine that we can’t forget!
